About the Organization• The League of Underwhelming Miniature Painters

(LUMP) is a community organization dedicated to educating gamers on how to paint their toys. We believe that games are more fun to play when your miniatures are painted (at least for your opponent).

• Stephen Habets and Peter Kelly are two war gamers local to the Elk Grove, California area. They run Warhammer 40,000 leagues and play in lightly competitive events. You can find them at their local stomping grounds, Olde World Gaming.

Zenithal Priming• Zenithal – related to or defined by the highest

point• This concept is based upon light hitting the

highest point of your model and creating more and deeper shadows as the model itself blocks the path of light.

• We prime the model all black, then come back and prime the model grey , but only from about a 45 degree angle off the face and head of the model. Finally we repeat with white, but only from the top. The result in a graduated lightening of the model from the bottom to the top.

• Painting over zenithal priming helps you to see where on the model your paint should be darker and lighter.
