Audience FeedbackI Created a questionnaire so that I could decide whether or not my project had been successfulin the eyes of my initial target audience, here is the questionnaire that I have created;
1) What does the title suggest to you?2) What genre/type of music does the magazine focus on and how do you know this?Pop/Indie/Dance.3) What makes the pages look professional and what stops them from looking professional?4) How genuine would you say the front cover is on a scale of 1-10?5) Does the contents page simply inform or does it also manage to interest you in reading therest of the magazine?
6) Does the article sound like a piece of journalism? If not what bits dont sound right?7) Does the article layout make you want to read it? If not why not?
I gave the questionnaire to 8different people of my initial target audience to see what theythought.

AUDIENCE FEEDBACK!

ANSWERS1. Not sure.2. That it is a fashion or music magazine.3. Dont really know, it sort of relates to music.4. That it is a music magazine.5. Music Magazine.6. Dont know.7. That is a magazine related to music maybe.8. Feels current and up to date.
From my results it shoes for the title that it doesnt exactly relate to the type of genre I have chosen, howeversome people noticed that it would relate to music, if I was to do this again then I would make sure that I chose aname that would be easier related to music and fashion.

The results that I have received are positive, over 60% of the people that I questioned thought that mymagazine genre was pop, which it is. This is good because it shows that the way I have created itimmediately shows the genre of the magazine by its representation. more time than I had.

7) Does the article layout make you want
to read it? If not why not?
From this question my results again have come out really positive, with magazines it is key toensure that your interview/article doesnt look boring and catches the readers eye. Here are
some of the comments that came with the answers; It isnt boring as it has quotes and picturesas well as big bits of text Its broken up and just not a big lump of text The colours and photos
and text grabs make it interesting to look at making you want to read.

For my media coursework I have created a music and fashion magazine, idecided to incorporate fashion as I thought it would make it a bit differentand give it something more. I focused on various real well known artists as
some kind of stimulus, these were Elisa Doolittle, Katy Perry, PalomaFaith. I created a front cover for the magazine, a contents page and a doublepage spread. I worked alone throughout this project and believe what Ihave created has been successful in relation to how I planned it to be.
Introduction

My genre of magazine is music fashion, it focuses mainly onmusic but with different elements of fashion. It is created for
females but could also be for males who had interest inmusic fashion. It was vital that I created it to be as realisticas possible for this reason I did much research into differentexisting magazines to help me create my own. Incorporatingfashion into my genre was successful and worked well, it
gave the magazine a larger potential audience which intheory would be better for money making. I believe my ideasworked effectively, this is represented through my audiencefeedback.

My front page immediately addresses the factthat the magazine also focuses on fashion, this ismade noticeable through the style of clothingused in the model. As well as this some of thecaptions on the front cover focus on fashion anddraw the reader in and make them want to lookinside and read more, it is vital that the magazinefront cover is interesting to catch the buyers eyeas soon as they see it. I also tried to make mydouble page spread interesting by using one ofthe most interesting quotes from the interviewagain to catch the readers and make them think I want to go on and read more, the quote I usedwas, music is my life, it always has been thiswould make the reader want to find out moreabout the artists history and also find out moreabout them. The colours and pictures used alsoneed to be interesting and eye catching therefor Ihave used large fun pictures and bright eyecatching colours such as pinks, greens, blues.

For my music magazine I have represent music stars and celebrities and teens. I have tried to create an artistsimilar image wise to Elisa Doolittle and Katy Perry as they are both successful artists. To do this I had to thinka lot about the image. I researched into both of my chosen artists styles and looked at different images of themto try and make my artist slightly similar. It was essential to ensure that my artist looked the best on the front
cover image to make the eye catching and make people want to buy it. I also had to buy various magazines andread different celebrity interviews to make my narrative interesting, it was key to make sure that my text wasinteresting so the reader would possibly buy the magazine to read it. Much research was needed to ensure thatit represented that group of people well, here are some of the images I chose that I wanted mine to be similar to.
I have focused on young contemporary teens to help me focus on my style by thinking of somebody they wouldparticularly want to look unto as a role model and somebody who they could follow trends off.

When creating my music magazine I got some inspiration of the summer magazine issue fromVIBE. This is where I chose my music magazine from because it was already professional and
looked really good. Vibe is an American magazine that focus on Music Pop/Hip Hop and also
elements of fashion and the latest celebrity gossip. This its the type of genre that I was focusingon for my article also so I believe the distributers of this magazine may be likely to distributemy media product.
InterMedia is the name of the publishers, they are based in America although I believe that myproduct may be able to reach a high potential with a lot of work and they also consider someUK magzines. Although they mainly focus on Hip Hop music my artist and magazine havemany different elements of music and therefore gives a wide range of audience possibilities.
What kind of media institution might distribute your
media product and why.

When creating something that will be available forpurchase it is essential that all elements are covered tomake the product its best.
How did you attract and address your
audience.
To try and make my magazine the best it could be and asrealistic as possible it was essential for me that I wasaddressing all the main elements of a real life magazine, therefore I had to ensure that I was using bright colors, avariation of colors is needed to set the mood and alsohighlight the type of artist that the magazine focuses on.
I also had to ensure that I was usingb
old writing, italicsand different fonts, it Was essential to do this so that thefront cover drew attention to potential buyers and madeit eye catching and stand out so that people wouldwant to buy it. The fashion element was also veryimportant as I had to ensure that I was making my artistlook at her best for my cover so that people would lookat it and immediately want to read about her.

Whilst creating my project I have had to use many differenttechnologies. One of the main things I have had to use is aAPPLE MAC computer, this was new to me as I had notdone this before and I found it quite a challenge, I had to
use two different programmes Photoshop and InDesign, Ifound these quite difficult to use therefore it required a lot ofwork.I used Photoshop to edit all my photos for mymagazine, then I used InDesign to create it. I also usedblogger to update how my project was going, this helped meto keep track of what I was doing and what I still had left todo.I also had to train to use the lighting equipment for when Iwas taking my photos of my artist, I also had to be trainedhow the use the camera properly to.I had to use safari internet on the apple macs i also learnt touse www.blogger.com this was the place where I created ablog updating my work how it was going and all of myresearch. Aswell as this I had to use www.dafont.co.uk tofind the different fonts for my magazine. In addition to this I learnt to use the full lighting sets andequipment in depth as I did long photo-shoots consisting ofover 100 photos each time that I did them.
What have you learnt about the technologies from the process ofconstructing your product?

When looking back onto my preliminary tasks it is very apparent that I have mademany changes and progressed in many different ways. My preliminary task wasvery plain and not eye catching or realistic whatsoever, I didnt have much
experience at the beginning therefore my prelim was not very good and it showedmy lack of experience with the equipment.
Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you havelearnt in the progression from it to the full product?

Pre-liminary task and Finished Product
In comparison my pre-liminary task are very different. For my pre-lim I didnt have muchtime, therefore it is nowhere near as detailed nor has it got as much effort put into it. My Pre-lim isvery plain and there is nothing that really catches your eye and makes you want to read it, where as
my finished product uses bright colours, interesting fonts and different styles of fonts.
The photo on my pre-lim was just taken quickly and has not been edited what so ever, where as theone on my finished project was chosen out of one of 100 that I had taken, in addition it has beencropped and put onto a background that I created myself.
As well as this I didnt do any research for my pre-lim task I just created it at the spare of themoment, for my final project I did research into other magazines taking ideas and using them to
inspire me for my own magazine.
I also think that my finished project looks a lot more realistic that my pre-lim, I definitely think thatpeople would be more likely to buy my finished project than my pre-lim.
On a whole I think that my finished project is a lot better as I had a lot more time to do it and aswellas this it is more appealing for an audience.

Overall I believe that I have done well withmy project and that it works well, myaudience feedback also reflects this. I think
that my key strengths were research and thedesign of the product, I think that the use ofmy research helped me to create a gooddesign. I think that my weaknesses wereusing Photoshop, I slightly struggled usingit throughout the project even up to theend, I also think that another of my
weaknesses was meeting deadlines. Despitesome of my weaknesses I think that myfinished project has worked well and beensuccessful on a whole.
