Congratulations to our
weekly winners.
This week’s theme is:
“What is Bullying?”
Welcome back to term three. I trust everyone had a relaxing and enjoyable time with their children during the break from school. Staffing
Unfortunately during the holidays Ms Routledge had surgery after injuring her Achilles tendon when playing netball and will be off work for an indefinite period. Letters have been sent home with the children in the grade with further details about the arrangements that are in place to cover for Hannah’s absence. Leanne Rawson will be the teacher in the grade 5/6 area for the next fortnight. I’m sure Hannah will be up and about and back to work as soon as she has recovered. Ms McManus is on leave for a further six weeks. I have appointed Rachael Dowlan to work at the school every Wednesday and she will take PE with every grade.
Welcome to the school Leanne and Rachael. Public Speaking Awards
The children in grades 3—6 are busily preparing for the Lions Club public speaking awards. I have just had the pleasure of listening to the children present their speeches and they are excellent. The children have put in a great deal of time preparing and practicing their speeches and they should be proud of their achievements. Whole School Positive Behaviours
The members of staff at the school have been busy working through the school wide positive behaviours program which will be in place very soon. I have Attached the positive behaviours matrix which highlights the values of respect, responsibility and safety and what the expected behaviours are in the classroom, outside, indoors and when using digital technology. The rationale behind this matrix is to ensure there is a whole school approach to behaving positively and that we use consistent language when we are trying to convey a message. The values and behaviours outlined in the matrix will be expected by the students, teachers, parents and visitors to our school. A copy is also available on the school website. The Nathalia Primary School Community Newsletter
We have received positive feedback about the school community newsletter that was distributed during the vacation. A new edition of the newsletter detailing what has taken place at the school will be published and distributed at the end of every term. Thanks, Chris McCallum.
