The Labor of the Church

There are Few Laborers

Matt. 9:37 "The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few.;”

Matt. 9:38 “Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.”

John 4:35-38 “they are already white for harvest!”

Labor of Love

I Thess. 1:3 “Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labor of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father;”

Work of Faith - under severe persecutions

Patience of Hope - future blessings and joy

Labor of Love

Hebrews 6:10 “For God is not unjust to forget your work and labor of love, which you have shown toward his name, in that you have ministered to the saints, and do minister.”

He will not forget

It is not in vain1 Cor. 15:58 “always abounding in the work of the Lord …knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.”

Laborers with God

I Cor. 3:8-9 NKJV “Now he who plants and he who waters are one, and each one will receive his own reward according to his own labor. 9 For we are God's fellow workers; you are God's field, you are God's building.”

I Corinthians 3:6-7 NKJV “I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the increase. 7 So then neither he who plants is anything, nor he who waters, but God who gives the increase.”

Never unemployedNever retire

Rev. 14:13 “Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.” “that they may rest from their labors and their works follow them.”
