Gopis hear Krishna’s flute playing
They remember His beauty and their pastimes with Him
Chapter 6. Knowledge of the Absolute TEXT 47
yoginam api sarvesam mad-gatenantar-atmana
sraddhavan bhajate yo mam sa me yuktatamo matah
TRANSLATION
And of all yogis, he who always abides in Me with great
faith, worshiping Me in transcendental loving service, is most intimately united with Me in yoga and is the highest
of all.
Talks of the Gopis
Krishna and Balaram appeared to beactors on a dramatic stage
• Pious activities of the bamboo
• Glorify the parents of the flute and the lakes and rivers
Peacocks dance upon hearing Krishna’s flute
Animals trees and plants listen to flute sound
Deers offer respects and the gopis feel unfortunate
• Denizens of heavenly planets get attracted
• All corners of the Universe could hear the flute
• Cows are charmed listening and calves unable to drink milk
• They shed tears embracing Krishna to their hearts
• Perfection of Krishna consciousness
• Birds listen attentively oblivious to surroundings
• Gopis consider them as great scholars
• Yamuna river breaks her banks
Clouds serve as an umbrella for Krishna and Balaram shielding them from scorching heat
• Unique position of Govardhan Hill
• Receiving the association of the Lord and reciprocating
Krishna and Balaram play exactly like cowherd boys
No one can worship Krishna, the Supreme Lordby any method which is better than the methodof the gopis.
