8C Waste Reduction Process Intensity%8C Waste Lbs / 8C Production Lbs

8C = Reeling + Skein Dyeing + Winding

Project: Revised 8C WASTE REDUCTION.MPJ; Worksheet: Baseline; 8/4/2014 4:17:09 PM; RM

8C Waste Reduction Project Significance

To reduce Plant 13’s 8C waste pounds.

Baseline: 0.3021 lbs per 8C lbs

Goal: 0.2115 (30% reduction)

Projected Savings: $24,572

Roll Length Audit

Roll Length Audit Objective

To make sure roll length is accurate

Inaccuracy could affect production and waste (give customer too little or too much, scrap too little or too much, etc.)

Possibly update machine scale factors as needed

Lessons Learned

Communicate

Be patient

Ask questions

Prioritize

Stay positive

Deadline management

Receive constructive criticism

In Conclusion…

I have enjoyed the opportunity to co-op at plant 13

I am greatly appreciative of the opportunity provided to me by Shaw Industries, Inc.

I look forward to another co-op term for Shaw.

Thank You
