Option Subjects

If you take separate sciences then you have three free options

If you take core/additional science then Option block 1 is constrained. You then have two further free option choices

Constrained option (one of): French/German/Geography/History/Computing

You can take more than one of these subjects, just select it as one of your other option choices

Why three options?

• Increased content in the new Maths GCSE• Increased content in the new Science GCSEs • Therefore more curriculum time is needed

Why is their a constrained option for core/additional scientists?

• Increased focus nationally on facilitating subjects

• Move towards a suite of at least 8 subjects for most students that give a broad and balanced curriculum, but also include appropriate facilitating subjects
