THE MICHIGAN MERIT EXAM

All Michigan students take the MME in March of their junior year.

It includes:• A free ACT college entrance exam that can be

used to apply to college.

• A free WorkKeys assessment that connects work skills training, and testing to improve students’ education and job opportunities.

• An additional assessment to cover areas not included in ACT or WorkKeys

WHAT IS ACT AND WORKKEYS?

The ACT test is a standardized test designed to test the knowledge base of a student in areas of English, mathematics, science and reading.

WorkKeys is a job skills assessment system measuring real-world skills. WorkKeys connects work skills, training, and skill testing for educators and employers
