Royal Ontario Museum Response re: artifacts acquired from Art of the Past Inc

The Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) acquired eight artifacts from Art of the Past Inc. Six of these

are 19th or 20th century works on paper, one is an 18th century bronze, and one is Gandharan

carved stone. Following museum policy, each acquisition was carefully investigated in terms of

quality, authenticity and provenance. The antiquities in this group have been documented as

having acceptable provenance from published auctions or from known private collections. The

modern works comply with all current Indian export regulations. The ROM is in the process of re-

examining the documentation for this group of objects. The ROM has also acquired two 20th

century paintings and a manuscript from a known collection from the dealer Ramesh Kapoor.
