Key Competencies and skills (I)
SEPMAC Project (FP5): Development of a New Integrated System for Ecological High Speed Machining using Internal Chip Evacuation.
Project Goal: Full chip removal through tool and spindle, elimination of chips from working space
Advantages of the new technology:
Safe and clean working area. No operator’s health hazard. Clean and dry workpieces, do not
require further cleaning. Immediate chip processing. Flexible machining / less tools
required. Compatible with tool-shank
standards (HSK, ISO). Simple- do not require additional
devices.
The promising results encouraged the research group to explore new materials and applications
