How to download OverDrive eBooks onto your iPod, iPhone or iPad

1

2

Go to the App Store and download the app for the OverDrive Media Console.

3

Next you will be prompted to sign in with your Adobe ID. If you don’t have one, you’ll need to register at Adobe.com (it’s free and takes just a few minutes).

4

Select “Get Books” then “Add a Library.”

5

Search for the Cortland Free Library by name or zip code (13045).

6

Now select “Finger Lakes Library System.”

7

Now you’re ready to search for a title to download. Notice that you have the option to “Search” or to “Browse.”

8

If the title is available, you will have the option to “Add it to Your Download Cart.” Now you may “Proceed to Checkout.” (If you’re asked to “Place a Hold

Request,” that means the file is signed out by another patron. If you choose to place a hold request, you’ll be notified via email when the title becomes

available.)

9

You will need to login to your patron account to confirm the check out.

To Return an eBook Before Its Due Date

At this time, patrons can only have 3 eBook titles signed out at once—thus, you may want to return a title before its due date so you take out another. To return

a title, swipe your finger across the “book jacket” in the direction of the red arrow above. Then select “Return then Delete.”
