PHIMS uses GIS technology to enhance real-time situational awareness and assist with evidence informed decision-making to help protect the health of the population.

Vision

• Assess the strengths and unique value offering of PHIMS to afford better situational awareness for Pan/Parapan Am 2015.

• Use Pan/Parapan Am as a pilot to demonstrate the value to public health of having access to real-time and predictive information for decision-making.

• View spatially relevant data over multiple locations.

• Ability to layer data for visual comparison.

• Navigate information in an intuitive and open way.

What does PHIMS provide?

• Environmental / Weather data. Current and Forecasted.

• Demographic data.

• Emergency and health infrastructure data.

• Transportation infrastructure.

• Tools to help you interact with and understand all of the data provided.

Technical Requirements

• Use one of the following three browsers to run PHIMS. • Chrome and Firefox will update automatically, however, you may need to update to

the most resent version of internet explorer.

• If you don’t see all of the layers you are expecting, your organizations firewall may be blocking them.
