Entry Task:How do you think humans impact the environment? Give a positive and a negative way.

Unit 5 - Overview Posted on the blog! Human Environment Interaction: Human Environment

Interaction looks at the relationships between people and their environment. These relationships have both positive and negative affects on the environment. Human Environment Interaction focuses on how people adapt to, depend on, and modify their environment.  For example, in tropical areas people adapt to the weather by wearing shorts and t-shirts instead of winter coats, depend on the wildlife and plants for food, and modify the land to grow crops and create farmland.

Essential Questions: How do people depend on the environment? How to people adapt to the environment? How do people modify the environment? What are the relationships among people and places? How have people changed the environment to better suit their needs?

Ask yourself…How do people affect the

environment? How do you affect your environment everyday?

How does the environment affect people?
