INSPIRE 14 POSTER GUIDELINES
PLANNING YOUR POSTER
Plan a poster that contains images and text, visible clearly from a distance
and easily understandable to the viewer
Plan with a smooth sequence of information you wish to present
Images you wish to use should not be pixilated
Remember visual aids are such as graphs, charts are more attractive and
viewer-friendly than plain text
TECHNICALITIES
Portrait, A1 size poster, made on flex
Send it in a digital format (jpg, jpeg)
Use images at high resolution
TITLE AND LAYOUT
Title should be brief but should give an idea of what would come next.
Title and main points should be prominent like bold or underlined. People
will stop to see your poster only if they find the title clear yet intriguing
The information you put in should be in any sequence of your choice such as
columns. It should be obvious for the viewer to figure out where to look next
Make an eye catching layout but do not make it too congested, edit
irrelevant information.
Use graphs/charts/trees etc. to display data or technical information. A
template is attached with this document.
OBJECTIVITY
This is the most important part. Your poster although should describe well
about your internship experience answering questions such as
How did you find it
What did you in it
Why did you do it
What projects/fields did you work on and how
But apart from being descriptive, it should be objective meaning it should
give idea of what did you achieve from it and how has it made you better
than before answering questions such as
What knowledge and experience did you gain from it
How is this helpful and beneficial to your education/ learning and thinking
How does it make you more productive in your field
Your poster should have a conclusion or goal deducible by the viewer,
although you will give a presentation, your poster should speak its language
too!

CONCLUSIONS
BLOCK DIAGRAMS / PFDs / PIDs
Here is where you put your eyeball grabbing
data. Remember to number all figures and add
caption under the figures.
The height / space under each headings are
customizable.
The acknowledgments of the contributions of
trainers / colleagues can be stated in this
section.
This should be brief suggestions and
recommendations for improving the job / work.
The big finish, where you get to blow your
audience away with your final, pithy comment.
