Deleuze, Difference et Repetition
Architecture has traditionally been understood as a discipline highly tied to the physical reality. This thesis questions the idea of spatial permanence as the basis of design and as its only outcome. Architecture goes beyond simply making physical structures and finds ways to incorporate human experiences and emotions.
Through the idea of perceptual reality, this thesis de-materializes conventional architectural elements and exposes forms of experience by blurring and deconstructing what we conventionally understand as reality. It is non-physical, yet transforms the nature of bodily experiences within a physical space.
“In Passing” is an installation that aims to create an experiment in architecture’s capacity to produce alternate forms of spatial experiences and construction - through the use of light as space-making material. By creating visual spaces with light’s untouchable essence, it encourages viewers to see in ways that are haptic - as if we can feel the light with our eyes. The qualities and sensations of the intangible are made tactile.

ARCHITECTURE AS SPATIAL DESIGN AND LIGHT AS SPACE-MAKING MATERIAL
Transformation of solid-state materialistic architecture to an ever-changing process of events, focusing on the experiential qualities of space. In that architecture goes beyond the objective:
hidden dimensions of architecture that are only percievable by our senses and our mind and creates new understanding in the spatiality and physicality of architecture.
