What is a post? • A post is an article which populates
your blog (or other areas of your site) which need frequent updating.

What’s the difference? • Categories are broad terms used to describe your blog
post. For instance, if you post a leg workout on your fitness blog, the categories might be “Workout” and “Legs.”
• Tags are more specific keywords. Using the example above, you might include the tags “quads, calves, strength training.”

How are they used? • Readers can click on a post category or tag and view all of the
posts within a category or with the same tag. • Categories and tags are unlimited, however, a combination
totaling 5-15 is recommended. • Categories and tags help sort and rank related posts. • Think in terms of your readership; what are they searching for
when they look for an article on the site? What will be useful to them?

Comments, Pingbacks and Trackbacks
• Comments allow readers to respond to posts. There are several ways to monitor comments under Settings -> Discussion.

• Pingbacks are notifications. If pingbacks are enabled, you will receive a notification if someone links to your blog. If you link to another blog in your article, the author of the blog may receive a pingback (if the other blog has pingbacks enabled.)
• Trackbacks help to track the post discussion. Think of them as “remote comments.” Enabling them allows other bloggers to join the discussion on his or her own site while still referencing your original post.
