from something which clings. Read! And your Lord is Most Bountiful - He who taught (the

use of) the Pen, Taught the human that, which he knew not.”

Every one

who tries his level best

to seek the truth,

and follows it when finds it.

Objective of this Seminar

• To compare the Homeopathic proving record and Biochemical record of some trace elements where we find much resemblance.

• To bring the truth before the people who have misconception that Homeopathy is just based on empty speculation and is nothing but a form of placebo effects based Quackery.

Biochemical Role of Selenium:

• As a component of glutathione peroxidase. (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/4686466)

• Potential role in male fertility. As a part of Glutathione peroxidase serves as a vital component in the maintenance of muscle cell and red blood cell integrity, playing a role in the synthesis of deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) and ribonucleic acid (RNA). (http://pjms.com.pk/issues/aprjun109/article/reviewarticle1.html)

04/15/23 20

COPPER

• A BRIEF HISTORY:• In 1805 Dr. Hahnemann first time proved Copper and

published in fragmenta de viribus medicamentorum. • Nutritional essentiality of copper was established in

1928 first time (http://jn.nutrition.org/cgi/content/abstract/130/2/489S)

• Copper-deficiency syndromes in humans have been recognized since the 1960s, and the list of contributing factors is expanding. (Journal of the

American College of Nutrition, Vol 4, Issue 1 83-105,)

04/15/23 21

Biochemical Role of Copper

• Copper containing, Diamine oxidase has a role in the metabolism of histamine

• Some other diamines and spermine oxidase, involved in the metabolism of polyamines.

• Benzylamine oxidase (BAO) has a high affinity for benzylamine and its role in the extra-cellular matrix includes the maturation of pro-elastin and control of the inflammatory process. (Inflammopharmacology Volume 11, Number 3 / September, 2003)

04/15/23 22

Biochemical Role of Copper (cont.)

• Copper is found in a variety of enzymes, including the copper centers of cytochrome c oxidase.

• Also in superoxide dismutase (containing copper and zinc), which changes superoside radicals, into Hydrogen peroside. (Text book of Medical Biochemistry by by MN Chattegjea and Rana Shinde 6th Edition)

• In addition to its enzymatic roles, copper is used for biological electron transport. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Copper)

04/15/23 23

Biochemical Role of Copper (cont.)

• Increases antibody production. Ab production decreased in Cu deficient diet (Gengelbech and spears, 1998)

• Copper is component of Ceruloplasmin which has Modulate inflammatory response by phagocytosis

• Ceruplasmin acts as ferro-oxidase and facilitates its icorporation in transferrin. Also in superoxide dismutase (containing copper and zinc), which changes superoside radicals, into Hydrogen peroside. (Text book of Medical Biochemistry by by MN Chattegjea and Rana Shinde 6th Edition)

1. The color of the face becomes pale. Pale, puffy face. Bluish face, with blue lips. (A Dictionary Of Practical Materia Medica By John Henry Clarke, M.D. Published in 1900)

1. Iron deficiency Anemia, Hypoxia and cyanosis because its part of ceruplasmin

04/15/23 25

Comparison (Continued)

2. Melancholy, loves to be alone, and becomes anxious about her death, Great depression of spirits, Apathetic and inert. fixed ideas of imaginary occupations at which the patient labours (The encyclopedia of pure materia medica by timothy f. Allen, a.M., M.D. Published in 1874)

ZINC

• A BRIEF HISTORY:• First proving done by Dr. Hahnemann (1755-

1848)

• 1951: First study on biological role of zinc.

• 1960: First study on role of Zinc in animals and plants.

• 1971: First study on biological role of Zinc in Humans.

04/15/23 28

Biochemical Role of ZINC

• Two mechanisms have been elucidated; the protection of sulfhydryl groups against oxidation and the inhibition of the production of reactive oxygens by transition metals.

• Supraphysiological concentrations of Zn have antioxidant-like effects in organelle-based systems and isolated cell-based systems in vitro.

• Administration of pharmacological doses of Zn in vivo has a protective effect against general and liver-specific prooxidants

04/15/23 29

Biochemical Role of ZINC (Cont.)

• Dietary Zn deficiency causes increased susceptibility to oxidative damage in membrane fractions from some tissues suggesting that increased oxidative stress may be a small but significant component of the pathology observed in dietary Zn deficiency. However, the biochemical basis for Zn deficiency pathology remains unelucidated; critical antioxidant functions for Zn may still be uncovered. (The physiological role of zinc as an antioxidant. ByBray TM, Bettger WJ. Free Radic Biol Med. 1990;8(3):281-91.)

04/15/23 30

Comparison of biochemical deficiency symptoms and proving record

• Eczema, especially in the anæmic and neurotic. Itching and sensation of excoriation in the scalp, or pain as from ulceration. The hair falls off from the vertex causing complete baldness, with sensation of soreness of the scalp.

• Rough skin, dandruff and collagen disturbances.

04/15/23 31

Comparison (Continued)

• Varicose veins, especially of lower extremities.

• Blurred Vision• Feeble children, feeble

girls, mind feeble, memory poor. "Repeats all questions before answering them."

• Collagen disturbances, Defective connective tissue

• Cataract• Mental Lethargy

04/15/23 32

Comparison (Continued)

• Cholera infantum, with tenesmus; green mucous discharges. Sudden cessation of diarrhœa, followed by cerebral symptoms. (Homœopathic materia medica by william boericke, m.D. Ninth edition. Published in 1927)

• Diarrhea

04/15/23 33

Comparison (Continued)

• The whole economy seems to be tired and feeble, so that when a girl approaches puberty and it is time for the menses to be established, but the flow does not appear, she goes into a decline.

• Hypogonadism in males. Lack of sexual development in females. Delayed puberty in adolescents. Growth retardation.

04/15/23 34

Comparison (Continued)

• Emaciation throughout the body; the skin looks withered; the face pallid, wrinkled, unhealthy, sickly

• If the child comes down with scarlatina or measles, it goes into a stupor. The eruption does not come out. (Lectures on homœopathic materia medica by james tyler kent, a.M., M.D. Published in 1904)

• Delayed skeletal maturation and defective mineralization of bone. Weight loss.

• Infections and Poor Immune system. (http://www.ctds.info/zinc1.html#zinc)

04/15/23 35

CONCLUSION

Mathematically

If PR=D and BR=D

THEN

PR=BR

04/15/23 36

CONCLUSION (continued)

Now Logically

If “PR” is Homeopathic Proving Record, which Reveals “D” Deficiency Symptoms of some

trace element

And “BR” is Biochemical Record which also Reveals “D” Deficiency Symptoms of that

element

04/15/23 37

CONCLUSION (continued)

• Then, “PR” Homeopathic Proving Record and “BR” Biochemical Record are equal in value.

• So, If one of them is Scientific then the other is also scientific and vice Versa.

As we all know that

Biochemistry is an Science,

So Homeopathy is also a Science.
