STANDARD POSITIVE DISPLACEMENT BLOWERS
With nearly a hundred of years experience in the manufacture and the sale of rotary positive displacement blowers, BOC Edwards has a large range of two and three-lobe version blowers specially designed to meet the requirement of standard air or neutral gas applications: efficient, competi-tive and robust solutions
For the three-lobe blowers, pulsation control males is the right choice for applications where thin-wall piping or ducting is used, for example, and where the avoidance of resonance or minimization of discharge noise is essential.
Two-lobe blowers are especially useful in territories where economy of operation is important and where pulsation control is less so. The two-lobe design is also less sensitive to particle contamination.
THREE-LOBE BLOWERS SERIES - SN SERIES BLOWERS
How it worksPositive displacement blowers are based on the tried and tested volumet-ric principle by which the volume generated is proportional to the speed of rotation, providing a guaranteed 100% oil-free air and a transported gas that is free of any contamination.
They consist of two identical ‘Three-lobe’ rotors which mesh in opposite direction thanks to a set of synchronized gears, with no friction and no lubrication, within an oblong body.
The rotor profile has been perfected to the point where blowers provide maximum efficiency under all operating conditions.

TWO-LOBE BLOWERS SERIES - S2H 22 to S2H84
Positive displacement blowers are based on the tried and tested volumet-ric principle by which the volume generated is proportional to the speed of rotation, providing a guaranteed 100% oil-free air and a transported gas that is free of any contamination.
They consist of two identical ‘Two-lobe’ rotors which mesh in opposite direction thanks to a set of synchronized gears, with no friction and no lubrication, within an oblong body.
The rotor profile has been perfected to the point where blowers provide maximum efficiency under all operating conditions.
Range40 to 9500 m3/h / 25-5500 CFM for pressure to 1 bar gauge / 14.7 psig or vacuum to 500 mbar / 15 inch Hg
Features & benefits• High mechanical and volumetric efficiency• Air cooled, oil free operation• Fast and easy servicing• Detachable feet allow for vertical or horizontal flow• Clockwise or anti-clockwise rotation• Direct drive or V-belt drive available throughout the operating range

Blower package components• Acoustic enclosure
Manufactured from zinc plated steel sheet the enclosures are epoxy powder coated and suitable for outside installation and aggressive atmo-spheric conditions. Forced ventilation is by an oversized fan unit. It is recommended that the fan continues to operate for ten minutes after the blower is stopped to remove any residual heat.
The acoustic material lining the walls is flame-retardant. All blower pack-ages are supplied fully assembled on a palletizable base provided with an earth connection. The silencer base is connected to the package base by an earth strap.
The basic version packages have a pressure gauge connected to the dis-charge and a filter restriction indicator.
• Options
The instrumentation can include: - temperature gauge- temperature switch- ambient thermostat inside enclosure.
• Transmission
‘Silent Flow Plus’ packages are supplied with belt transmission systems featuring automatic tensioning so that no adjustment is needed after start-up.
The automatic tensioning system has been designed to accept motors in cast iron and aluminium to NEMA standards, etc.
• The suction filter/silencer
This device combines the functions of sound attenuation and filtration.
The centrally positioned cartridge guarantees that the gas being con-veyed remains free of contamination even in the event of the absorbent lining of the silencer being destroyed.
• Silencer base
Resting on anti-vibration mounts reducing dynamic forces, it supports the blower motor assembly, and inlet filter silencer.
The design is totally reactive to ensure a broad spectrum sound attenu-ation without risk of infil migration to the downstream process.
• Discharge assembly
Comprising a pipe fitted with a works-calibrated safety valve, isolated pressure gauge, non-return valve and a flexible connector. As an option, a starting valve can be supplied.
• Starting valve
Not necessary for blowers fitted with frequency inverted motors, this device is recommended for blowers driven by electric motors con-trolled by a star-delta starter (and starting against a fixed head).
• Non-return valve
Made of aluminum and silicon, these valves are totally corrosion-proof. The full bore minimizes pressure losses.
• Oil change
The high pressure range blowers come with an oil change system con-sisting of two check valves with safety caps. Automatic draining is pro-vided by connecting a flexible drain pipe.

MULTISTAGE CENTRIFUGAL BLOWERS
Multistage centrifugal blowers are a complementary solution to rotary lobe blowers and turbo compressors for users of vacuum and low pres-sure systems.
Multistage blowers are ideally suited for all operations where a variable flow at constant pressure is a definite requirement.
BOC Edwards has engineered state of the art blower and exhauster pack-ages. Special attention is given to blower alignment. Steel base frames with machined pads for the blower and motor, all ensure vibration-free opera-tion.
For retrofits BOC Edwards multistage centrifugal blowers and exhausters will replace existing units involving very few modifications to the piping and base frame.
How it worksThe performance characteristics of these blowers generate a variable flow and power at a constant speed.
Multistage centrifugal blowers are dynamic radial compressors.
They build up a pressure by accelerating the fluid in a set of impellers and then decelerating the fluid by means of long radius and high efficiency dif-fusers. By activating a valve located on the suction side, BOC Edwards blower's special design allows for modulation of airflow while maintaining a constant pressure.
The power consumption is thus in direct proportion to the required mass flow rate.
As an alternative to inlet throttling, air flow can be modulated using a vari-able frequency drive for specific applications.
BOC Edwards can provide a range of pre-engineered control panels for all your blower and process control needs.
SME SERIES
SME series blowers are manufactured using the most advanced processes, with digital control machining for the highest precision level.
Each unit is tested per ASME PTC10. A test report is issued showing vibra-tion data, flow and power consumption.
RangeBOC Edwards Hibon meets the most demanding industrial/ municipal requirements for vibration, noise and efficiency.
BOC Edwards Hibon blowers can deliver 850 m3/h - 55000 m3/h / 1200 - 18000 CFM of dry/clean air without fluctuations, at pressures occasionally up to 1.3 mbar / 20 psig and a vacuum up to 500 mbar abs. / 15 inch of mercury.
BOC Edwards Hibon offers the benefits of the proper equipment solution that is economical and quiet.
BOC Edwards Hibon's flow versus pressure characteristic curve allows for a wide operating range down to 50% of flow rate, without surging.
BOC Edwards Hibon's knowledgeable staff and our local manufacturers representatives are a valuable asset to every project.

APPLICATIONS
Multi-stage centrifugal blowers and exhausters SME series are engineered to withstand the most demanding applications and to offer years of quiet, vibration-free performance, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. These units are typically used for:• Aeration (wastewater treatment)• Combustion air• Centralized vacuum cleaning systems• Landfill gas boosting• Filter scouring (water / wastewater treatment)• Flotation air• Agitation• Drying• Flue gas Desulphurization (FGD)• Oxidation air
Specific design features:• Blower inlet/outlet heads and intermediate sections are fabricated of
cast iron ASTM A 48-30B (FGL 200) for an outstanding strength• Impellers are of cast or riveted aluminum alloy, depending on the flow
characteristics required• They are statically and dynamically balanced for efficient operation
without vibration• There are ample internal clearances, with no interference fitting surfaces
which offers spark free operation• Shaft is SAE 10-45 (XC 38) steel• Type C3 ball bearings are designed for 100000 hours, AFBMA-L10 (NF
ISO 281 LH10) service life. They are oil bath lubricated, by means of an advanced design factory preset lubricator, which assures a constant oil level for long service life
• Bearing housings are fabricated of ASTM A 48-38B (FGL 200) cast iron, temperature stabilized and precision machined ensure parallel alignment to the casing. Additionally, the housing is designed to prevent pressurization from the process air, thus eliminating any potential oil leaks
• Carbon ring seals within the bearing housing reduce air leaks while improving compression efficiency
• Compressed air/gas is guaranteed 100% oil free
Construction and benefits

BOC Edwards Hibon blowers are fabricated using the most advanced
processes, with digital control machining for the highest precision level.
Each unit is tested and a report is issued showing vibration data.
Available equipment options• Double carbon ring seals with purge by an inert gas• Corrosion-resistant coatings for casing and impeller• Double enclosure housing for explosion-proof construction• Performance tested in accordance with the latest ASME PTC 10
standards• Variable frequency drive packages complete with controls
Unit assemblyBlower assembly is specifically designed to provide a compact and com-plete unit, with special attention to alignment of the motor/blower base assembly, for a vibration-free solution.
Many accessories are available to suit environmental and operating requirements, such as an inlet filter/silencer, a modulating inlet/discharge valve, flexible couplings, and check valves. No special foundation or anchors are required for the unit, allowing it to advantageously replace any existing installation with a minimum of modifications.
The functional design of each unit allows it to be equipped with a control panel using a programmable logic controller with an operator interface for a highly user-friendly operation. This control panel will accept inputs from instrumentation, such as RTD sensors, vibration switches, dissolved oxy-gen meters and pressure transmitters. In addition, the control panel mon-itors start/stop sequences. It allows for programming to automatically maintain constant air and gas flow rate, based on data from the operator or an external signal from the process controllers such as dissolved oxy-gen, pressure and temperature sensors.
A programmable controller is used with components that are commer-cially available. This controller operates with BOC Edwards Hibon soft-ware, optimized and adapted for each particular application.

BOC Edwards Hibon has the technical expertise to provide complete turnkey control systems for various process requirements: Water treat-ment, combustion air, oxidation air in flue gas desulphurization systems, and many more. The TCX 5000 is designed to operate multiple blowers simultaneously while optimizing airflow output to meet your process requirements. From simple airflow control at preset periods to header pressure control, to ‘Most open valve’ control, you can rely on BOC Edwards Hibon engineers to provide the best solution.
Typical application: waste water treatment plantBOC Edwards Hibon TCX 5000 provides automatic control of dissolved oxygen using a Most Open Valve (MOV) control philosophy. We have refined the MOV control logic to provide a smooth running and very effi-cient system.
The MOV system delivers the right amount of oxygen in each aeration tank while minimizing compression ratio and power costs.

OIL FREE SCREW COMPRESSORS
How it worksOil free screw compressors are air-cooled, twin-shafted, positive displace-ment machines.
Each contains two rotors (male and female) which rotate in opposite direc-tions as a result of synchronized gears which are located outside the com-pression chamber.
Thus the compressed gas can be said to be completely ‘oil-free’.
The internal compression ratio is attained, and the gas is discharged through the outlet into the delivery pipe.
Our asymmetrical 4+3 screw section is especially well adapted to low-pressure operation.
HCS seriesThe single-stage, screw type compressor HCS series are produced as stan-dard units suitably customized with an extensive range of accessories, or optional configurations which can provide customized solutions.
RangeFlows to 8500 m3/h / 5000 CFM.
Pressure to 3.5 bar gauge / 50 Psig.
Vacuum to 350 mbar abs. / 20 inch Hg.
Features & benefits• Oil free compression • Piston ring and labyrinth seals• Ground and hardened alloy steel helical gears• Bearing rated for 50000 hours as per AFMA standards• Anti-friction bearings optimized for maximum reliability• Integral gear box and oil reservoir, very compact design• Noise enclosure limit the noise to 80 dBa maximum• Precision machining of male and female rotors, high efficiency, low
vibration• Variety of gear box ratios available• Direct drive, low maintenance• Cartridge type oil filter• Built-in, mechanically driven oil pump• Air-end manufactured from high grade cast iron directly connected to
an integral gear box• Forged steel rotors for constant performance• Calculated tolerances between rotors and body to optimize efficiency• Mechanically driven oil pump from main shaft with integral oil tank and
