National Programme• A national coordination initiative, led by the Ministry of

Environment

• An executive secretariat for the national coordination effort, is placed within the Directorate for Civil Protection and Emergency Planning (DSB):

– Provide status on climate adaptation across sectors and administrative level

– Assist information exchange between sectors and administrative levels

– Contribute with advice and guidance to local and regional planners, for example through the web-portal

• Web portal published in March 2009

The National Platform

Troms Project – Climate Service Centre

The purpose:• Assist the municipalities with mapping, organizing and finding the data needed

• Provide more detailed knowledge to the Climate Service Centre, helping them to improve their products and service

• Develop a Climate profile for each of the four participating municipalities, using this method to generate similar Clilmate profiles for all Norwegian municipalities

Questions asked: • What kind of data is needed on different levels in planning?• What kind of data is available, and what is not?• Is reliable data available at all? • How to deal with lack of necessary data?
