Wiring example
Input wiring
The communicator contains four inputs for connection of sensors. Possible types of inputs are NC (normally closed), NO (normally closed), EOL (End of line) 10 kΩ. See below how to connect:
NO, Normally Open NC, Normally Closed Normally closed circuit with end of line resistor
(EOL, End of Line)
INx COM COM
INx COM
Note: When connecting temperature sensor with longer than 0.5 m wires, it is recommended to use twisted pair cable (UTP, STP).
Maximum four iO-MOD modules can be connected to the one communicator in one system
Maximum eight iO or/and iO-WL modules can be in one system
iButton key readers and temperature sensors can be connected directly to 1-wire data bus. o In addition, iButton key readers schematic shows the colour code of wires for LED connection
19
GSM controller CG17
Fire sensor wiring
Fire sensors can be connected only to that PGM which are defined as Fire sensor reset (see TrikdisConfig PGM window –> Outputs tab)
Four wire type fire sensor
Two wire type fire sensor
a) using zone EOL (or NC, without resistor).
b) using zone NO.
*SM1 – compatible module made by Trikdis allowing connecting 2-wire fire sensor to the CG17 that use 4-wire detector wiring scheme.
Temperature sensor wiring
Temperature sensors can be connected directly to 1-wire data bus.
To CG17 can be connected these temperature sensors: DS18B20, DS18S20.
When connecting temperature sensor with longer than 0.5 m wires, we recommend to use twisted pair cable (UTP, STP).
Wire colors: RED – +Vdd, connect it to +5V contact YELLOW – DQ, connect it to 1 Wire contact BLACK – GND, connect it to COM contact
20
GSM controller CG17
TM17 and iButton reader wiring
The TM17 reader connects to CG17 through RS 485 data bus. RS 485 data bus length is up 1 km:
The iButton reader connects to CG17 through 1–wire bus, this bus length is up to 30m:
5.7.1 iButton and TM17 key registration
1. If the list is empty, the first registered iButton is recorded in the first section, and it is registered as master key. 2. To add other keys, first use master key – hold it next to key reader for 10s, and then do the same action with other keys.
When you register keys to TM17, the indication LED State will start blinking in red color. 3. After successful key registration, again use a master key to exit registration mode. 4. To delete all (and master key) keys hold master key next to key reader for 20s.
A siren wiring
Back–up supply
If main power supply source was lost, the event AC Fault report will be formed and the CG17 automatically switch to the system feeding on the back–up supply – 12 V battery.
When the battery voltage decreases down to 11.5 V, the CG17 will form the event Low Battery report.
When the battery discharges below 9.5 V, the CG17 will turn off.
Upon restoration of the AC mains voltage, the AC Restore report will be formed and the battery charging process shall start automatically.
When the battery voltage restores to 12.6 V, the event Battery Restore report shall be formed.
Battery installation: Install a back–up supply battery into the mounting housing.
Connect its wires to the CG17 back–up supply source terminals BAT+ / BAT–.
Verify the battery charging current to ensure it is charged in due time.
When siren is used, we recommend taking into account how big current consumption of the siren is.
To wire siren with 1 A current consumption, use only CG17 terminal outputs - either 4 OUT or 5 OUT.
To wire siren with low current consumption (up to 100 mA), use any output.

When writing firmware manually, it can be changed to a newer or older version. To update: 1) Run TrikdisConfig. 2) Connect the communicator via USB cable to the computer or connect to the communicator remotely.
If newer firmware version exists, the software will offer to download the newer firmware version file. 3) Select the menu branch Firmware.
4) Press Open firmware and select the required firmware file.
If you do not have the file, the newest firmware file can be downloaded by registered user from www.trikdis.com , under the download section of the communicator.
5) Press Update [F12].
Enter IMEI (it can be found: on packing box; back of communicator`s housing; in TrikdisConfig as Unique ID).
Note: If there is an installed antivirus software on your computer, it might block automatic firmware update option. In this case you must reconfigure your antivirus software.
