It is my pleasure on behalf of the Greater Greer Chamber Of Commerce and the Committee
to welcome you to the Pelham Medical Center Greer Family Festival, presented by the City of Greer and The Greer Citizen. This marks the 30th Anniversary of this outstanding event! As we re-flect over the past 30 years I am proud the festival has maintained the vision the founders wanted which was “to give back to the citizens of Greer.” Through the years Greer Family Festival has been able to provide our guests free arts and crafts for our Children, Free entertainment by, not only local artists, but national recording stars and, last but not least, a vast array of local food along with arts and craft vendors. We truly offer something for all ages! I hope if you have ever worked on a plan-ning committee for this event or ever served in any capacity you will be present at the Marshall Tucker show on Saturday night at 7:30 at the Main Stage as we recognize you for your contribution! This festival would not happen without your help! We want to stop for a moment on Saturday night to show our appreciation!
I have been involved since 1995 and I want to take a moment to explain how lucky we the citi-zens of Greer are to live in the community we live in! In Greer, we are blessed to have a great partner-ship between The Greater Greer Chamber of Com-merce, The City of Greer and Greer Station Associ-ation. The Chamber staff put a huge amount of man hours into the planning and implementation of this event. The City not only gives us the use of the City Park, but also provides us with City servic-es such as Fire, Police, Parks and Recreation as well as Street cleaning and trash pickup. The Greer Sta-
tion Association represents the downtown mer-chants and they allow us to take over their streets and a lot of their parking to put on this event. The level of cooperation is unparalleled and we should be grateful to live, work and play in Greer!
Sponsorships are the life blood of the festival! It obviously takes money to provide the free arts and crafts as well as the musical entertainment we enjoy over this two day festival. Pelham Medical Center as the title sponsor has stepped to the plate so we can secure top name entertainment for your listening pleasure. This is their eighth year as the title sponsor and we are proud of their com-mitment to our community, not only as title spon-sor but as a leader in top quality health services in our community.
We are also proud of the long time support of Mitsubishi Polyester Film, Citizens Building & Loan, GSP Airport, Greer CPW, Langford Electric and Wood Mortuary. These companies have been a part of the Festival for many years and give gener-ously to support and help our festival grow.
In addition we appreciate the new sponsors who see the value to the community and support us as well and they are: Davis Orthodontics, D&D Motors, TD Bank, Nationwide Insurance, Upstate Information Hub, Ryan’s Steakhouse, Amazing Threads and Yourmark.com.
This year was the 19th year of the Greer Family Festival Bass Tournament held April 19th at Lake Robinson! Thanks to Larry Beheler and Sharon Pond for their outstanding work on this event and the financial contribution it makes to our festival!
Also Thanks again to CPW not only for their sponsorship but also for allowing us to use Lake Robinson.
I urge you to en-joy this 30th annual Pelham Medical Cen-ter Greer Family Festi-val presented by The City of Greer and The Greer Citizen! As you walk the streets and enjoy all the activities I hope you will take the time to look around and see what great strides our community has made over the last 30 years. Greer is truly a city on the move and we should all be proud to be a part of such a won-derful community.
Enjoy!

The Marshall Tucker Band got its start in Spartanburg, S.C. In 1972, they signed with Capricorn Records, the same label that guided The Allman Brothers Band, Wet Willie, and others to na-tional fame. The MTB opened shows for The Allman Brothers in 1973, and the following year, they began to headline their own shows across America. They toured constantly playing sheds, stadiums, theaters, fairs, and festivals. With singles like “Heard It In a Love Song,” “Fire On The Mountain,” “Can’t You See,” and “Take The Highway,” The Marshall Tucker Band earned seven gold and three platinum albums while they were on the Capricorn Re-cords label. During the 90’s, the MTB scored four hit singles on Billboard’s country chart and one on Billboard’s gospel chart. To-day the band continues to record new material and regularly tour the country to the delight of their fans, both old and new.
Now, thanks to the expanding scope of today’s music, a new generation of fans is learning what the rest of their fans have known for so long—that good music knows no boundaries. Along the way, the band has recorded twenty-two studio al-bums, three DVDs, three live albums and many compilations. To-day the band records on its own Ramblin’ Records that is distrib-uted by Sony by way of a joint venture with Shout! Factory.
