What is Senioritis?OA crippling disease that strikes
high school, college, and graduate student seniors.
OA term that describes decreased motivation, towards any type of schooling during the last semester prior to graduation.
Methods in Teaching Around Senioritis
OMany students finish graduation requirements by their junior year; therefore, teachers could use this time to administer fun activities towards college/post-high school preparation.
Methods in Teaching Around Senioritis
O Academic activities may include:O Senior Projects, regarding what
they’ve learned within their four years of high school, research papers, or oral presentations.
O Dual Enrollment, offering college level courses students may choose based on their own interests.
Situation AnalysisO Children’s Literature Course–Elective EnglishO Allows students to read book of chose,
presenting a project they’re interested in at the end of each unit.
O Creative Projects include:O Brochures for Hogwarts or Diagon Alley after
reading Harry Potter and the Sorcerers StoneO Class Newspapers or Board Games after
reading classics such as, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland or Treasure Island.

O However, if senioritis is too severe for an increased amount of academic work, life lesson activities are equally, if not more important to maintain students cognitive thinking. O These lessons include:

O The Discovery AntidoteO Picture book unit regarding format, layout,
art, plot, audience, language, and colors.O Students create their own picture book.O Read and teach their founded information to
preschool and elementary students. O Applies to students in all writing abilities,
below-average, average, advantaged.O Influences soon to be educators.O Encourages learning to be FUN!

overwhelmed with upcoming tasks. Make a list with a deadline, and follow.

schedule. Don’t take away from studying for an exam, just step down from a leadership role, or back out of an extracurricular that’s become of less interest.
