About Us AIESEC is the world’s largest youth-run organization, present in over 125 countries & territories, 2’400 universities and with over 86’000 members and 1 million alumni worldwide. Since 1948, AIESEC, a non-profit organization, has provided a platform reuniting the academic and the professional world, giving students the opportunity to activate their leadership potential through an integrated development experience, as well as providing companies, institutions and NGOs with the ideal solution of global recruitment. AIESEC represents a unique and continuously growing global network, helping companies internationalize their human capital on one hand and on the other, helping youths become the leaders of tomorrow.
History AIESEC was officially founded in the aftermath of World War II in 1948, by 7 European countries: Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, the Netherlands, Norway and Sweden, who felt that there was a need to bridge the gap between people and cultures around the world, as well as to persuade business schools to produce capable individuals to rebuild the economy. The organization was named «Association Internationale des Etudiants en Sciences Economiques et Commerciales» (International Association of Students in Economics and Commerce). Today AIESEC welcomes students from a broad range of faculties, universities and higher education institutes. AIESEC has existed in Switzerland since 1951 and is currently present in 8 cities (Basel, Bern, Fribourg, Geneva, Lausanne, Lugano, St. Gallen and Zürich).

The Global Internship Program
For over 60 years, the Global Internship Program has been the optimum solution for the needs of
companies, international organizations and non-governmental organizations, providing hand-picked
qualified interns through an effective process made easy by AIESEC’s services. Each year over 20’000
students and young graduates go on an internship with one of our partners. Thanks to our presence in
over 2’400 universities, AIESEC has worldwide access to students and young graduates with a multitude
of backgrounds and experiences.
Internship Promotion & Intern Selection
The internship period goes from 6 to 72 weeks depending on the employer’s
necessities. With an efficient and centralized sourcing process, the program allows
organizations to access international candidates. At any given time AIESEC has 10’000
or more candidates who are looking for international traineeships.
After completing an intern qualification form provided by AIESEC, the form will be
placed on AIESEC’s international database, where a global campaign will begin to find
a qualified intern for your organization. AIESEC pre-selects the three candidates that
best fit the profile your organization has provided. After the pre-selection process you
will be able to interview these qualified candidates to find the candidate that will best
suit your organization and the position you require.
Logistical Arrangements
After the selection process, AIESEC takes care of the main logistical and administrative arrangements before the arrival of the intern, such as:
Work permits and VISA requests
Airport pick-up
Finding accommodation
Setting-up a bank account
Getting a mobile operator
Cultural integration training and support (before, upon and after the arrival of the intern).

AIESEC has a strong positive relationship with Mondelez International (formerly Kraft Food) in terms of the Global Internship Program provided by AIESEC. There are currently 3 AIESEC interns working for Mondelez and they have been collaborating with AIESEC in international recruitment since 3 years now. Interns are recruited for 6 months internships, but most of the times their contracts are prolonged to 1 year. As it is an international company, interns’ backgrounds are diverse and they are working in different departments. This solution has provided a very important cultural exchange in Mondelez’s work environment, different cultures have different approaches and perspectives and all together oriented towards solutions. Here is what Mondelez says about working with AIESEC :
In AIESEC there is a good quality of the workforce
AIESEC provides companies with large pools of candidates defined by cultural and academical diversity in a very short time
AIESEC covers all administrative issues very efficiently (especially work permits and housing) and we didn’t have to do anything for these matters – considerable time and effort saved.
AIESEC provides a very good atmosphere for interns in order to culturally integrate them into Swiss environment, they seem very happy about AIESEC’s support. This enables us to work in a very positive context.
Everything is excellent in communication level with AIESEC
Quick implementation of all types of requests that we have:
E-mail answer within 24h
