Then Geomatics May Be for YouUFoffersthestate’slargestandlongestrunning4-yearABETaccrediteddegreeprograminGeomatics.ThisfieldusesadvancedtechnologytodetecthowandwherethingsarelocatedontheEarth’ssurface.AsaGeomatics’studentyou’llstudy:howtheEarthismeasured,howEarth-baseddataisanalyzedandhowthisdataisintegratedintoformsandsystemsthatpeoplecanuse.EverydayworkrequiresproficiencywithGeographicInformationSystems(GIS),GlobalPositioningSystems(GPS),surveyingandmapping,plusremotesensingandphotogrammetry.WhileaUFstudent,regularuseofhightechclassroomandfieldequipmentprepareyoutoentertheworkworldwithplentyofhands-onexperience.Plus,weofferassistancewithfindingandapplyingforinternshipopportunities.
