MAPs testing

Beginning Tuesday, September 11th – Friday, September 14th, students will take a com-puterized assessment called Measures of Academic Progress or MAPs. This assess-ment is adaptive; as a student gets answers correct, the questions become more chal-lenging. The tests are not timed, so students can relax and not feel rushed. MAP tests are important to teachers because they keep track of progress and growth in basic skills. The test scores let teachers know where a student’s strengths are OR if help might be needed in any specific areas. Teachers use this information to help guide individual and group instruction in the classroom. Your student will know the result of the testing session and can tell you the score. Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact your student’s advisor.

All clubs met after school from 3:50 to 4:45, permission slips are available at the club

wall outside room 133.

DPS transportation is available for afterschool intervention and clubs to GVR and

Montbello. If your student has an intervention, CP/EH, mandatory tutoring or leader-

ship program, your students must serve the intervention, your students cannot be

excuse, this applies to sports practice too. Please talk to your students about signing

up for clubs as the school will not be making automated calls to notify parents that

students will be staying for clubs and sports

Examenes MAPs

A partir del martes, 11 de septiembre - viernes, 14 de septiembre, los estudiantes tomarán una evaluación computarizada llamada Medidas de Progreso Académico o MAP. Esta evaluación es adaptativa; a medida que un alumno obtiene respuestas correc-tas, las preguntas se vuelven más desafiantes. Las pruebas no están programadas, por lo que los estudiantes pueden relajarse y no sentirse apresurados. Los exámenes MAP son importantes para los maestros porque hacen un seguimiento del progreso y el creci-miento en habilidades básicas. Los puntajes de las pruebas les permiten a los maestros saber dónde se encuentran las fortalezas de los estudiantes O si se necesita ayuda en áreas específicas. Los maestros usan esta información para ayudar a guiar la instrucción individual y grupal en el aula. Su estudiante sabrá el resultado de la sesión de prueba y podrá decirle el puntaje. Si tiene alguna pregunta, no dude en ponerse en contacto con el asesor de su estudiante.
