Three Equalities Objectives 2018-2022
To diminish the vocabulary difference between children who are ‘word rich’ and ‘word poor’ and enable access to the full breadth of the curriculum
‘By closing the vocabulary gaps for children in our classrooms with their peers, we can offer them the vital academic tools for school success, along with the capability to communicate with confidence in the world beyond the school gates.’ Alex Quigley Closing the Vocabulary Gap 2018
To teach the Equalities Act through ‘No Outsiders in this School’ by Andrew Moffat so that children leave primary school proud and excited to be proud of a diverse community, whether that difference is through race, gender, sexual orientation, ability, gender, disability and age
To ensure that all children have access to a knowledge rich curriculum regardless of social or ethnic background or gender and that there are high expectations of all
The school will continually commit to review the gap between its attitude to knowledge and the reality of differential achievement
