White Township Recreation coaching staffs will consist of employees, independent contractors and volunteers. All contributing coaches will have the proper clearances necessary to their assignments.
Registration Polices Program Registration:
All registrations are taken on a first come, first serve basis (some programs will have caps or limits on the number of participants). For your convenience, online registrations are accepted 24 hours a day. Registration paperwork must be completed and returned with full payment before participating in any of our programs. Insufficient program registration is a cause for cancellation.
Fees & Payment:
Program Fees may be paid by debit/credit card online or by cash, check or debit/credit card in person at the time of registration. Please make checks payable to White Township. Returned checks will be subject to a $25.00 charge.
Refund Policy:
Full refunds are given only if a program is cancelled or the individual completely withdrawals before the start of a program. All refunds will be issued in the form of a check or credit card refund. Please allow two weeks for processing checks.
Program Confirmations:
All online registrations are confirmed through the receipt of payment when registering online. White Township will send confirmation to verify your registration of a program.
Weather Cancellations/Important Information:
If a program is cancelled due to weather-related or other unexpected circumstances, cancellations/important information will be announced via email. Please provide White Township Recreation with a frequently checked email address; this will ensure you are getting all program updates and potential cancellations. Cancellations will typically be made one hour before the program is scheduled to begin.

MINI (2-3 year olds) 9:00am-9:30am
Soccer Shots is a high-energy program introducing children to fundamental soccer principles, such as using your feet, dribbling an the basic rules of the game. Through fun games, songs and positive reinforcement children will begin to experience the joy of playing soccer and being active.
CLASSIC (3-5 year olds) 9:40am-10:10am
Soccer Shots Classic utilizes expert theme-based curriculum focusing on basic soccer skills like dribbling, passing, and shooting. Creative and imaginative games foster learning, and a positive character trait is highlighted in each session such as respect, teamwork, and appreciation.
PREMIER (5-8 year olds) 10:20am-11:00am
Soccer Shots Premier is designed for those who want to build upon what they’ve learned in the Classic program with increased scrimmage time.
Intro to Lacrosse (Ages 6 & up)
Fee: $35 per individual

Location: White Township Recreation Complex
This beginners program allows individuals to get involved in the game to see if its for them. Basic passing, catching, and stick-handling skills will be taught in addition to the four fundamental skills of the game: cradling, scooping, throwing, and catching. Game rules and regulations will also be addressed. Equipment is provided.
Today, lacrosse is played in more than 600 colleges and 2,000 high schools in the United States.

*Classes will be broken into two groups, separated by grade*
Sessions will provide students the opportunity to explore and integrate concepts from the STEM disciplines– Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics! Our STEM program allows students to participate in hands on activities which can help spark a passion for STEM related education. Real world applications will be the basis of the students’ learning environment here at S&T Bank Arena.
Beginner Gymnastics (Ages 6-8)

The beginner class is an introductory gymnastics class for children ages 6-8. Students will learn skills on bars, vault, balance beam and floor. Skills mastered in the introductory beginner class are needed to advance to the next level, which is Intermediate. The intermediate class is based upon skill level. It will expand on the skills learned at the beginner level and incorporate more intricate techniques.

Horses 101—The Basics of Horsemanship and Riding (Ages 8 & up)
Fee: $25 per class or $40 for 2 (per family)

While most horses gallop at a speed of 27 miles per hour; the fastest speed ever recorded was 55 mph.
Usually, a horse’s ears will point in the direction that they are looking, however, if a horse’s ears are pointing in two different directions, the horse is actually looking in two different directions.
The first Saturday in August, is the national holiday for disc golf.
Intro to Disc Golf (Ages 6 & up)

Curious about the disc golf course here at WTRC? Not sure how to play? This program will teach you the basics and provide each participant a better understanding of the game and the course. Discs will be provided at the start of the program if so desired for a fee of $10, in addition to the $10 fee of the program. If you are looking for additional practice, the course opens with the park at dawn and closes with the park at dusk.
The Great Outdoors (Ages 9 & up. Ages 8 & under must have adult supervision)
Fee: $30 per individual
Dates: Sept. 17th, 24th, Oct. 3rd
Days: Thursdays (Course will run 3 weeks, once a week)
Time: 5:30pm-7:00pm
Location: Whites Woods Entrance
This program will serve as an introduction to navigating the outdoors. Taking place in White’s Woods, this is an interactive program that is focused on basic land orientation and navigation that includes survivability skills. After completion, a participant will be able to identify terrain features, navigate using maps and create temporary shelter using the same techniques that are implemented in the United States Army today! Course will be taught by U.S. Army Staff Sergeant.
This program will introduce the basics of the sport of horseback riding and care of his/her equine teammate. Each three-hour session will focus on the basics of safely controlling a horse on the ground and in the saddle, and an educational "barn-room" session. The program goal is to have the students not only be able to ride, but to be educated in all aspects of horsemanship in a safe and fun environment.

Men’s Flag Football (Ages 18 & up)
Fee: $400 per team (10 players, 6 games, $6.67 per game)
Fee: $40.00 per individual (will be placed on random team if you do not list a specific team or players name on your registration)
Roster: Rosters are a 10 player minimum
Dates: Aug. 27th-Sept. 17th (Regular Season, 4 weeks) Sept. 24th-Oct. 1st (Playoffs, 2 weeks)

Have an interest or yearning to play football? Do you miss those high school or college days playing under the lights? Still have that competitive edge? This might be your calling. That’s right, the men are forming their own flag football league this year at WTR. Games will be 60-minutes in structure with a 10-minute halftime. Seven players from each team will be on the field at one time while four offensive players must be on the line of scrimmage when the ball is snapped. Most high school football rules will apply and team colors will be assigned by the league.
DID YOU KNOW?
The United States Flag Touch Football League (USFTL) holds the National Flag Football Tournament annually. The tournament continues to be the largest non-college flag football tournament in the nation.
Even though the US won 3 out of 4 Olympic appearances for softball, the sport was the first to be dropped from Olympic competition in 69 years.
The original softball was a rolled-up boxing glove.

Join us at White Township Rec for some pick-up slow-pitch Women’s Softball! All Women 18 and over are welcome to play and it’s only $1.00 to sign up! Bats and balls will be provided, be sure to bring your own glove. No experience is needed. Teams will be assigned at random, so please be sure to sign up in advance! Once signed up, look for more information via email to further explain program details! All cancellations due to weather will be addressed via email on the day of the game before 3pm. The end goal of this program is to hopefully develop a league in the future!

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION Our Skating Academy offers Learn to Skate lessons to children, teens and
adults. Our lessons are designed to teach skating in a way that’s
progressive, structured, safe and fun! During our sessions skaters are
tested according to Ice Sports Industry (skateisi.org) standards when they
are ready to move up to the next level of achievement. Evaluations are
built into each session with badges and progress reports. Through our
professionally run program, skaters will learn the skills that are necessary
in becoming a competitive figure skater, an elite hockey player, or a
life-long recreational skater.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
The first step to becoming a hockey player is our Learn to Skate Program.
After the completion of two Learn to Skate sessions, our Learn to Play
Hockey program is the second step in the process. In Learn to Play there is
still a strong emphasis on individual skating skills but we also begin to
introduce players to hockey skills and drills. Our Coaches separate players
into similar abilities and provide instruction based on the needs of the
group. Full hockey equipment is required to be enrolled in Learn to Play.
Kelly’s Hockey Shop is our full-service Pro Shop, located inside the S&T
Bank Arena and has all of the latest merchandise, from helmets and skates
to sticks and tape. We have it here! If you are interested in an equipment
or skate fitting, please call or email ahead to schedule an appointment.

We are proud to have a diverse group of coaches on our staff.
Backgrounds include college and higher level coaching as well as
working with younger ages. Between Phil Broskin and Steve Rebovich,
our coaching staff has more than 50 years of combined coaching
experience that is exemplified by additional coaching skills. Phil Broskin
has 29 years coaching experience at all levels and has been involved in
hockey for 37 years.
Did you know?
The first rubber hockey pucks were made from sliced-up lacrosse balls? When the sport moved indoors, whole balls were originally used, but rink owners soon found it preferable to cut them into thirds and keep the middle section. This basic design was the standard by 1885.
