Friday 24th FebruaryCreating ‘A Positive Environment’ to Support
Children’s Learning in the Revised EYFS The EYFS is changing! Developed by Ann Langston, who
supported Dame Clare Tickell’s Review of the EYFS, this course will involve participants in exploring ways to create
environments that will support young children’s learning in the revised EYFS, addressing the new EYFS principle: A Positive
Environment. (Venue: Madeleine Lindley)
Friday 16th MarchLearning and Development in the Prime Areas of
the Revised EYFS
This course will support participants in understanding the changes to the Prime Areas in the revised EYFS. This is a vital
course to ensure that observation, assessment and planning are in line with the new guidance. It will also help practitioners in making
judgements about the balance between the Prime and Specific Areas of the revised EYFS and the three
characteristics of effective learning. (Venue: Madeleine Lindley)
Thursday 22nd MarchGetting School Readiness Right (Birth to 5) in the
Revised EYFSThis course will focus on what is meant by the term ‘school
readiness’ and explore some of the issues for settings in ensuring developmentally appropriate practice is upheld in the EYFS. In
addition, real examples of partnership will be shared, demonstrating ways of supporting young children’s development, learning and transitions at all stages throughout the EYFS. (Venue:

Friday 25th MayLearning and Development in the Specific Areas of
the Revised EYFS This course will focus on the process and outcomes of learning in the revised EYFS. It will support participants in understanding the
changes to the Specific Areas of the new EYFS. It will support judgements about the changing balance between the Specific
and Prime areas as children grow and develop. It will also explore approaches to supporting and reporting on the characteristics
of effective teaching and learning. (Venue: Madeleine Lindley)
