Acharya expressedconfidence that the protractedNaga political issue would beresolved with in 2019 andNagaland will then becomeone of the most vibrant andeconomically independentstates among 28 states.A report by Nagaland Postquoted the outgoing Governorsaying, “2019 year will be thehappiest year for the Nagas. Iam 100% sure” adding thatsentiments and the goal ofNagas should be respectedand identity has to be upheldand Nagaland have to marchwith trip le jet speed foreconomical development.Acharya, who will be handingover charge to the newincumbent R.N. Ravi said hewas positive that Nagalandwill rise to be among the topstates in the country and inthis regard, appealed to theempowered Nagas living inother parts of the country andabroad to return andstrengthen the lives andsystem at home. Acharya has completed hisf ive-year tenure and anofficial farewell programme isexpected to be held sometimenext week. He saidNRC was for national citizensand its primary purpose wasto prevent illegal immigrants.He said ILPP does not dealwith immigrants but withIndian citizens who need tohave permit to enter into thestate.He said to strengthenNagaland, any serv icegiver(employee) should bewelcomed but ensure that theirIndian citizenship does notconflict with RIIN . He insistedthat NRC must be givenpreference which was forintegrity and security of thecountry. On eastern Nagaland, he saidENPO people were sufferingand that their issues has to beaddressed. The governor saidjustice should be done in allaspect and that there shouldbe no discrimination.

Out of the two girls whichwas swept away by theImphal River alongMahabali Mathak Leikaiyesterday evening4.30pm, the lifelessmissing body was foundtoday around 2 in theevening .The missing body wasfound by deep divers ofthe National DisasterResponse Force todayfew meters from the areawhere they last seenplaying.The body was identifiedas Gaiguiliu Panmei,daughter of Ambition ofPanmei of Laphok village,Noney district andcurrently staying atMahabali.Yesterday one of thebodies was recoveredlifeless some minutespast 5 pm by locals ofMahabali. The deceasedgirl was identified asOshin Dangmei, daughterof Rozer Dangmei ofMahabali Mathak Leikai .It is believed that bothgirls aged about 7 wereplaying in the riverbankbut later went into theriver to swim. Theirclothes were spotted inthe riverbank by familymembers and locals.The underwater currentis running fast, thoughthe Imphal River is notpresently swellingbecause of the scarcerainfall this monsoon,said a local, who tookpart in the searchoperation.The Search operationwas done by personnelof Manipur Fire Services,State Disaster ResponseForce, National DisasterResponse Force, andIndian Red Cross Societyfrom yesterday evening.The search operation washalted at night yesterdaybecause of the lightingand the strongundercurrent of the river.The team who did thesearch operation put a netnear the Singjamei Bridge.They continued the searchfrom today early morning.
