ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION
By. Corey Jones
Economic Effects A major issue illegal immigration imposes on the
economy is it causes strain in American opportunity in employment.
Illegal immigrants seek jobs that they can easily obtain without identification.
These jobs are usually hard labor jobs. They take these jobs at a wage, which is lower
than the minimum wage set by the United States Government.
Unemployment In America Illegal Immigrants are not U.S. citizens, they
usually work-underpaid jobs, which consists of mostly labor.
This takes up millions of jobs in the United States and has a major impact on our current economic depression.
Here’s something to thing about! Why would a Manager hire a U.S. citizen at minimum wage to do a job when an illegal alien would do the same job at half the wage?
Healthcare All hospitals are entitled to treat all patients
(including illegal aliens). This causes overflow in the hospitals. Which ultimately leads to a shutdown due to the
lack of funding.
Effecting Education There are millions of illegal immigrants in school,
which causes citizens to pay more money through taxes and U.S. students to lose certain privileges.
In All 50 states it cost 11,919,900,000 to educate illegal aliens.
If controlled all that money can be used to improve struggle schools around the United States.
Gang Violence Some of the biggest inner city gangs are linked to
illegal immigration. In 1980 prisons held 9,000 aliens. By 2003, the number of aliens in our prisons and
jails had grown to 267,000.This all adds up and cost the taxpayer and the
government billions of dollars.
Border Control Border control consists of 20,000 enforcement
officers But they only have control of 700 miles out of
1,954 miles. Checkpoints every 25-75 miles up and down the
border to prevent these illegal aliens from coming into our country
Green CardsWith a Green Card you are eligible to permanently
to live in the United States, work in the United States, and travel abroad.
Right now in the United States Green Cards are hard to obtain, the wait can sometimes be years after applying.
Ways to Prevent Up the Border patrol to 30,000 instead of 20,000. Next having a checkpoint every 25 miles. This overall will be a positive outcome in stopping
gang violence, drug trafficking, and illegal immigration.
Issue more Green Cards and make them easier to obtain.
