the paragraphs.
Well done!!!
Thank you to every who submitted their work to us.Thank you to the parents and carers for their help
Fantastic use of biography key features. Subheadings and information was a feature in all
of those submitted.
The amount of research completed to find information for the biograph was great- well
done.
Formal language needs to be used all the way through the piece of writing. Some biographies

Why do we write stories?
Think of three reasons.
Activity
Think back to your learning
about Howard Carter.
We are going to plan and
write a story about
discovering an Egyptian tomb in a pyramid.
We are going to generate some ideas today
All our stories are going to start the same.
You are going to be an archaeologist exploring the Valley of the Kings in Egypt for undiscovered tombs.
What could happen when you are searching for the tomb?
Think of as many different ideas as you can. Make a list of them.
Examples:
• It takes me months and months of trying to find anything.
• Someone else finds the tomb before me.
• I find the tomb and when I get inside, it is empty.
• …
Now it is time to pick!
Decide on one idea for your story.
Tomorrow we are going to plan out the story.
