DennisSharmahdservesasHIPAg'sleadbotanicaladvisor.Dennis’sspecialtiesincludebeinganEdibleLandscaper,Herbalist,Mycologistandethnobotanistspecializinginsubtropicalplants.HeisthefounderofSouthernSunSeedsandhasbeenteachingaboutwildedible&medicinalplantsforalmost30years.DennisgrewupwithrarefruitsandanediblelandscapedgardeninLemonGrove.HeisoneofthefoundingfathersoftheSDMS.HehasbeentravelingintheAmericanSouthWest,MexicoandBrazilhuntingforrarefruits,herbs,mushroomsandvegetables.HehasalsobeencollectingandgrowingrarecactusandotherfruitsathissmallfarmnorthofEscondidoforover30years.HewasoneofthegrowersatGoldenGourmetMushroomFarmandcurrentlyworkswithMountainMeadows.Heteachesintheareaaboutwildedibleandmedicinalplansandmushrooms.Histopicthismonthwillbeoneofhisfavorites

byKathrynBlankinshipHappyfall!Thedaysareshorterandthetemperatureismild.Wecanwaterlessandstartplanting.But,let’sgobacktoourSeptembermeeting.Wesuccessfullymovedtoanewlocation,theLifelineCenterinVista.Ourmeetingwasahugesuccess!Wehadagreatturnout,thesoundsystemworked,andtherafflewashuge.TherefreshmentsweresowonderfulIsaiditmightbeagoodideatomoveeachmonth!!Wenowneedtogetoutandputawayourtablesandchairs.Icouldn’tbelievehowfasteveryoneworkedtogethertoset-upandpick-up.Ishouldincludeaspecialthankyoutoeachofthemanypeoplewhomadethemeetinglocationmovepossible,butIwassobusyandthereweresomanywonderfulpeoplehelpingIwilljustwrite,frommypointofviewthewholeeveningwasjustwonderfulthankstoeveryonewhopitchedintomaketheeveningagreatsuccess!Ourspeaker,PaulBinghamgaveaveryinformativereportaboutthemanystonefruitvarietieshehasgrown.
