SMOOTHIE Smarts!

utilize frozen fruit!• Keep fuller, longer by adding the rolled or

steel cut oats (soluble fiber!)

Beans: They ARE Miraculous!

that help keep us fuller, longer• 1 c. cooked beans can be 12

grams of fiber!• Phytochemicals and antioxidants

(cancer, aging, heart disease)• 3 times per week, at least!

• Recipes: Tropical Fruit Yogurt Smoothie– Serves 2

• 6 ounces passion fruit yogurt (or other fruit like guava)• 1 medium chopped mango• 1 small banana• 1/3 cup rolled oats, uncooked• 2 tsp fresh ginger, grated• ½ cup pineapple juice• ½ cup fat-free milk• Put yogurt, mango, banana, oats and ginger into

blender. Add juice and milk. Whirl in the blender for about 30 seconds, or until smooth.

Cooking Demo!• Recipes: Black Beans Salsa

– (Serve 18 Yields 36 oz)

• 30 ounces black beans slightly drained, canned Sun Vista Brand

• 3/4 cup tomatoes diced• 1/4 cup green onion, sliced• 1 Tbl tabasco sauce• 1/2 teaspoon sea saltCombine all ingredients thoroughly, Let sit for 5 minutes

before serving. Serve cold with Chips, Nachos, Salad, Tacos and more.

• Grilled Cajun Chips (serves 1 yield 6 pieces)– 4 each Corn Tortilla, 4 1/2 inch – Miracle Dust, to taste– Sea Salt, to taste– 1 ounce Olive oil

• Using a Panini Press, press each corn tortilla until they become crisp and hard, not flexible. Using a pastry brush, lightly spread the olive oil across the entire chip. Then, using a French knife cut each chip into 6 triangular pieces. Quickly sprinkle the salt and Miracle Dust to your desired taste. Serve with dips and salsa, or by itself as a snack. Store in an air tight bag at room temperature.
