Easter Sunday“Th is is the day the Lord has made
Let us be glad and rejoice! Alleluia!”
Class Calendar ReminderNO classes this week — April 5th-6th-7th
Easter TraditionsWe plan weeks in advance for our Christmas celebration, but Easter nev-
er seems to get the same attention even though it is the most important day in our Church year. Here are three ways to create an Easter tradition-plan for next year:1. Select a family food for the Easter table that will be made only for Easter.2. Do something creative and memorable every Easter aft er Mass. Take a family photograph, go for a walk to look for signs of new life.3. Use something special — a pretty plate, a vase, a unique candle, a dec-orative table runner that will only be used at Easter as a reminder that this day is very special.
Easter Season PrayerRisen Lord, we greet you with joy this Easter season
and we thank you for the gift of new life.Bless our food, our family, and our fr iends, and help us
to celebrate the springtime in our heartsas we rejoice in the good news of your Resurrection.
Alleluia! Amen.

Leap of Faith
Th e Resurrection of the Lord Th e Mass of Easter Day
A READING FROM THE ACTS OF THE APOSTLESPeter proceeded to speak and said:“You know what has happened all over Judea, beginning in Galilee aft er the baptismthat John preached, how God anointed Jesus of Nazarethwith the Holy Spirit and power. He went about doing goodand healing all those oppressed by the devil, for God was with him.We are witnesses of all that he didboth in the country of the Jews and in Jerusalem.Th ey put him to death by hanging him on a tree.Th is man God raised on the third day and granted that he be visible, not to all the people, but to us,the witnesses chosen by God in advance, who ate and drank with him aft er he rose from the dead.He commissioned us to preach to the peopleand testify that he is the one appointed by Godas judge of the living and the dead.To him all the prophets bear witness, that everyone who believes in himwill receive forgiveness of sins through his name.”
Th e word of the Lord . . . Th anks be to God.
RESPONSORIAL PSALMTh is is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad.
A READING FROM THE LETTER OF ST. PAUL TO THE COLOSSIANSBrothers and sisters:If then you were raised with Christ, seek what is above,
where Christ is seated at the right hand of God.Th ink of what is above, not of what is on earth. For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.When Christ your life appears, then you too will appear with him in glory.
Th e word of the Lord . . . Th anks be to God.
A READING FROM THE HOLY GOSPEL ACCORDING TO JOHNOn the fi rst day of the week,Mary of Magdala came to the tomb early in the morning, while it was still dark, and saw the stone removed from the tomb.So she ran and went to Simon Peter and to the other disciple whom Jesus loved, and told them, “Th ey have taken the Lord from the tomb, and we don’t know where they put him.”So Peter and the other disciple went out and came to the tomb.Th ey both ran, but the other disciple ran faster than Peter and arrived at the tomb fi rst; he bent down and saw the burial cloths there, but did not go in.When Simon Peter arrived aft er him, he went into the tomb and saw the burial cloths there, and the cloth that had covered his head, not with the burial cloths but rolled up in a separate place.Th en the other disciple also went in, the one who had arrived at the tomb fi rst, and he saw and believed. For they did not yet understand the Scripture that he had to rise from the dead.
Th e Gospel of the Lord . . . Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.
