ON INQUIRING HE TOLD THE BLESSED IMAMS THAT HE WAS A HABITUAL SINNER WHO CONSTANTLY INSULTED & BEAT UP HIS FATHER . ONE DAY HIS FATHER CURSED HIM AND HE BECAME PARALYZED.

THE MAN BEGGED WITH HIS FATHER FOR FORGIVENESS

.THE FATHER AGREED TO PRAY TO ALLAH (SWT )TO REVERSE THE CURSE. THE FATHER AND HIS SON SET OUT TOWARDS THE HOLY CITY TO ASK FOR REPENTANCE BUT THE FATHER DIED ON THE WAY

ON HEARING THIS SAD TALE,IMAM ALI (AS) IMMEDIATELY WROTE THIS DUA AND ASKED THE MAN TO RECITE IT AFTER ISHA SALAAT

THE NEXT DAY THE MAN CAME TO IMAM

ALI(AS) FULLY CURED

HE SAID HE RECITED THE DUA AS INSTRUCTED.

THAT SAME NIGHT HE SAW THE HOLY PROPHET (SAWW) IN HIS DREAM, GENTLY TOUCHED HIS PARALYSED BODY . WHEN HE WOKE UP HE WAS CURED.

O ALLAH BLESS MUHAMMAD (AS) AND THE FAMILY OF MUHAMMAD (AS)

Bismilla Hir Rahma Nir Rahim

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Allaahumma inni asaloka bismeka bismillahir rah'maanir rah'eem

O Allah, I ask you with your Name the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the most merciful

yaa d'al jaalale wal ikaraame

O Lord of Majesty and Generosity;

yaa h'ayyo yaa qayyoom

O Living; O Self-Subsisting,

O ever living, there is no God but you

yaa h'ayyo Laa ilaaha illa anta

yaa huwa yaa mal-laa ya'lamo maa huwa walaa kaifa huwa

of whom no one knows what "He" is, nor how "He" is,

walaa aina huwa walaa h'aitho huwa illa huwa

Nor how "He" is, nor where "He" is, except "He.

yaa d'al mulke wal malaakoot

O Lord of the Great Kingdom and Supremacy.

yad'al i'zzate wal jabaroot

O Lord of might and invincibility:

O king, O all-Holy One!

yaa maliku yaa qudoos

yaa salaamo yaa momin

giver of Peace, O Keeper of Faith;

O Protector, O all mighty;

yaa muhaimino yaa a'zeez

O all Compeller, O Supremely great.

yaa jabbaaro yaa mutakabbir

yaa khaalequ yaa baariu

O Creator, O Maker

yaa musawwirou yaa mufeedu

O Shaper , O Benefitter;

O Administrator, O Severe (in wrath);

yaa mudabiru yaa shadeedu

yaa mubdiu yaa mueedo

O originator, O Restorer;

yaa mubeedu yaa wadood

O Destroyer , O All Loving

yaa mah' moodu yaa ma' bood

O all Praiseworthy, O worshipped

Yaa bae'edo yaa qareebo

O far , O near

yaa mujeebu yaa raqeeb

O Answerer of prayer, O Observer

yaa haseebu yaa badeeu

O Reckoner, O Innovator

yaa rafeeu yaa maneeu

O Exalter, O Preventer

yaa samee‘u yaa a'leem

O all Hearing, O all Knowing

yaa haleemu yaa kareem

O most calm, O all Generous

yaa hakeemu yaa qadeem

O all Wise, O Eternal

yaa aleeyu yaa azeem

O all High, O most Grand

yaa hanaanu yaa manaan

O all sympathizer, O all Gracious

yaa dayaanu yaa mustaan

O Requiter; O Refuge

yaa jaleelo yaa jameel

O Majestic; O Glorious

yaa wakeelo yaa kafeelo

O Trusted; O Guardian

yaa muqeelo yaa muneel

O Annuller, O Obtainer

yaa nabeelo yaa da leelo

O all Noble; O Leader

yaa haadi yaa baadi

O Guide, O all Apparent

yaa awwalo yaa aakhero

O First, O Last

yaa z'aahero yaa baat'eno

O Evident, O Hidden

yaa qaaimu yaa daaimo

O all steadfast, O Everlasting

yaa aalimo yaa haakim

O Knower, O Decider

yaa qaazee yaa a'adilu

O Judge, O Just

yaa faas'elo yaa waas'elo

O Seperator O Uniter

yaa t'aahiro yaa mut'ahiro

O Pure, O Purifier

yaa qaadiru yaa muqtadiru

O Powerful , O All able

yaa kabeeru yaa mutakabbero

O all Great, O all Sublime

yaa waahidu yaa ah'ad yaa s'amado

O One, O Unique, O Eternal

Ya mal-lam yalid walam yoolad

O he who does not give birth nor was he born

walam yakullahu kufowan ah'ad

And none is equal to him

Wa lam yakul lahu s'aahebah

And he who has no companion

walaa kaana maa’hu wazeer

Nor any Vizier

Walat takhad'a maa'ahu musheer

nor has he taken any advisor

Wa lah'taaja ila z'aheer

nor does he need any assistant

wala kaa na maahu min Illahi ghairu

nor is there with you any other God;

Laa illaha illa ant

There is no GOD but you

fata a'alaita a'amma yaqooluz' z'aalemoo na o'luwwan kabeera

you are far exalted with great excellence above all that which the unjust say about you

O all high O all lofty

O all towering, O all opener

Yaa Baadikhu Yaa Faatahu

yaa Nafaahu yaa Murtaahu

O all Diffuser O all restful

Yaa Mufariju Yaa Naseer

O bestower of relief, O helper

O Victorious O Comprehender

yaa Muhlik yaa Muntaqimu

O Destroyer, O Avenger

Yaa Ba’ithu , yaa Waarithu

O Resurrector, O Inheritor

Yaa T’aalibu Yaa Ghaalib

O Seeker, O Vanquisher

Yaa malaa yafootuhu haribu

O he from whom no one can escape

yaa taw waabu yaa awwaabu

O acceptor of repentance, O all Forbearing

O all Bestower

yaa musabibal asbab

O originator of all means

yaa mufattehal abwaab

O Opener of all doors (of relief and salvation)

O he who answers whenever he is called upon

yaa man h'aitho maa dua-yi ajaab

O all pure, O all Thankful

Ya t'ahooro yaa shakooro

yaa a'foo-wu yaa ghafoor

O Excuser , O Pardoner

yaa nooran noor

O Light of all lights

yaa mudabbiral umoor

O Director of all affairs

yaa lat'eefo yaa khabeer

O Ever subtle; O All-Aware

yaa mujeeru yaa muneer

O Protector, O illuminator

yaa bas'eero yaa z'aheer

O all seeing , O all aiding

yaa kabeeru yaa witr

O all Great, O Alone

yaa fard yaa abadu

O Solitary, O Everlasting

yaa sanado yaa s’amad

O upholder; O Eternal refuge

yaa kaafi yaa shaafi

O all-Sufficient, O all-Healing

yaa waafi yaa mua'afi

O all-Fulfilling, O all-relieving

yaa muh’sinu yaa mujmil

O all Kindly O all Gracious

yaa muni'mu yaa mufzil

O all caring , O all Bountiful

yaa muta karimu yaa mutafarid

O Gracious,   O Peerless.

yaa man a'laa faqahar

O he that is noble and overwhelming

yaa man malaka faqadar

O he who is the Master of all and has absolute power

yaa mam bat'ana fa khabar

O he, who is hidden but well informed

O he who is Worshipped and Thankful

yaa man u'beda fa shakar

O he who is disobeyed but still forgives

yaa man u's'eya fa ghafar

yaa ma laa tah'weehil fikar

O he who is not encompassed by thoughts

Nor perceived by vision

Wala yudrikuhu bas'ar

walaa yakhfa a'laihi athar

And from whom no trace remains hidden

O provider of Mankind

yaa raaziqal bashar

yaa mukadira kulli qadar

O determiner of every lot

O he who is of Exalted position;

yaa a'aleyal makaani

yaa shadeedal arkaan

O firm in support

O Changer of times;

yaa mobaddilaz' z'amaan

yaa qaa belal qurban

O Acceptor of sacrifices

O possessor of graciousness and favors

yaa d'al manne wal eh'saan

O possessor of might and force

Yad'al i'z zate wassult'aan

O All Merciful, O most Compassionate

yaa rah'eemu yaa rah'maan

O he who has each day a distinctive Glory

yaa man huwa kulla yaumin fee sha-nin

yaa man laa yashghalohu shaanun a'n sha-n

while no aspect of Thy Glory is erased

yaa a'z'ee mash sha-n

by the prominence of another aspect

yaa man howa bekulli makaan

O he who is in every place

O Hearer of all sounds

yaa saamea'al as'waat

O Answerer of prayers

yaa mujeebad daa'a-waat

O he who fulfils all requirements

yaa munjeh'at' t'alabaat

O Fulfiller of all needs

yaa qaazi’yal h'aajaat

O he who sends down blessings

yaa munzilal barakaat

yaa raah‘imal a'baraat

O he who has mercy on our tears

O he who annuls errors

yaa muqeelal a'tharaat

yaa kaashifal kurubaat

O he who removes troubles

O he who is the Cherisher of good deeds

yaa waleeyal h'asanaat

Yaa rafia’ Darajaat

O he who raises men in rank and degree

O he who agrees to requests;

yaa mutiyas sulaat

yaa muh'yiyal amwaati

O he that brings the dead to life

O he that gathers together that which is scattered.

yaa jaa miash shataat

yaa mut'alian a'lan niyaate

O he that is informed of all intentions

O he that restores that which has been lost

yaa raadda maaqad faat

yaa man laa tash tabeho a'laihil as'waato

O he that is never confused by a multiplicity of voices

O he that is not annoyed by requests

yaa malaa tuzjirohul mas-alaat

Walaa tagh shaahuz’zulumaat

and Whom no darkness can hide or cover

O Light of the earth and the heavens

yaa nooral arz’e was samaa waat

O ample in blessings

yaa saabe ghan nea'am

yaa daafia'n niqam

O Averter of Calamities

O maker of breaths of life,

yaa baarean nasam

yaa jaamea'l umam

O Gatherer of nations

O Healer of disease

yaa shaafiyas saqame

yaa khaaleqal noori waz’ulam

O Creator of light and darkness

Lord of bounties and generosity

Yad'al joode wal karam

yaa man laa yat'au a'rshahu qadam

O he upon whose throne no one can set foot

O he who is more munificent than the most munificent

yaa ajwadal ajwadeena

yaa akramal akrameen

O he who is more generous than the most generous

O most hearing of the hearers;

yaa asma-a's saamee'en

Yaa Ab’saran Naazireen

O seeing than the most perceiving

O protector of those seeking protection

yaa jaa ral mustajeereena

yaa amaanal khaifeen

O sanctuary of the fearful

O Asylum of the Refugees

yaa z'ahral laa jeena

yaa waliy-yal mumineen

O sponsor of the believers

O helper of those that seek help.

yaa ghia yaathal mustaghitheen

yaa ghaa yatat t'aa-libeen

O goal of the seekers

yaa s'aah'eba kulli ghareeb

O Companion of every stranger

yaa munisa kulli wah'eed

O friend of the lonely ones

yaa malja-a kulli t'areed

O refuge for every outcast

yaa ma-waa kulle shareed

O shelter for every wanderer

O Guardian of all those who stray

yaa h'aafez'a kulle z"aaallat

yaa raah‘imash shaykhil kabeer

O he who is merciful to the old

O he who nourishes the little infants

yaa raazeqat t'iflis' s'a-gheer

yaa jaaberal a'z'mil kaseer

O he that joins together broken bones

O he who Releases all the prisoners

yaa faakka kulle aseer

yaa mughneyal baaaesil faqeer

O he who enriches the miserable needy

O Protector of the frightened refugees

yaa i's'matal khaaefil mustajeer

yaa malahut tadbiri wattaqdeer

O he who governs and determines

O he for Whom all difficult things are simple and easy

yaa manil a'seero a'laihe sahlun yaseer

yaa man laa yah'taajo elaa tafseer

O he who never needs an explanation

O he who is powerful over everything

yaa man howa a'laa kulle shayyin qadeer

yaa man huwa bi-kulle shayyin khabeer

O he who is aware of everything

O he who Sees everything.

yaa man huwa bikulle shayyin ba s'eer

yaa mursilar riyaah'e

O sender of the winds

O cleaver the day-break

yaa faaleqal is'bah'e

yaa baa' ethal arwah

O dispatcher of the spirits

yad'al joode was samaah

O Lord of Generosity and Clemency

O he who in Whose hands are all keys

yaa man be yadehi kullu miftaah

yaa saamea'a kulle s'awt

O he who hears every sound

yaa saabeqa kulle fawt

O he who takes precedence over all that have passed away

yaa muh'yeyaa kulle nafsin ba'dal mawt

O Giver of life to every soul after death

O my provision in confronting hardships

yaa u'ddati fee shiddati

yaa haa fez'i fee ghurbati

O my Guardian in strange lands

O my Friend in my loneliness

yaa moonesi fee wah' dati

yaa waliyyi fee ne'mati

O my Master in my blessings

O my Refuge when the journey makes me weary and my kinsfolk hand me over to my foes and all my comrades forsake me

yaa kahfi h'eena toe'eenil mad'aa hebo wato sal-lemonil aqaarebo Wa yakhd'oloni kullo s'aahebin

O Guarantor of him who has no guarantee;

yaa i'maa da manlla i'maada lahu

O Means of him who has no strength;

yaa sanada man laa sanada lah

yaa d'ukhra man laa d'ukhra lah

O Refuge of him who has no refuge

O sanctuary of him who has no sanctuary

yaa h'irza man laa h'irza lahu

yaa kahfa man laa kahfa lahu

O cave of him who has no cave

O treasure of him who has no treasure

yaa kanza man laa kanza lahu

yaa rukna man laa rukna lah

O pillar of him who has no pillar

yaa gheyaatha man laa gheyaatha lahu

O help of him who has no help

yaa jaara man laa jaara lah

O neighbour of him who has no neighbour.

yaa jaareyal las'eeq

O my adjacent neighbour

yaa rukneyal watheeqa

O my firm support

Yaa elaahi bittah'-qeeqe

O my GOD in truth

O lord of the Ancient House (the Ka'ba);

yaa rabbal baitil ateeqe

yaa shafeeqo yaa rafeeqo

all affectionate , O nearest friend

Fukkani min h'alaqil maz"eeqe

Liberate me from the chains that hold me back

Remove from me all sorrow, Suffering and grief,

was'rif a'nni kulla hammin waghammin waz"ee q

Protect me from the evil that I am unable to bear,

Wakfeni sharra maala uteeq

wa a-i'nni a'laa maa ut'eeq

and help me in that which I am able to bear

O he who returned Joseph to Jacob

Yaa raad da yoosufa a'laa ya'qoob

O he who removed the afflictions of Job

yaa kaashifa z’urre ayyoob

yaa ghaafirad' d'ambi daawud

O he that forgave the fault of David;

O he who lifted up Issa (Jesus) and saved him from the clutches of the Jews

yaa raafia issa ibne maryam wa munjihi min aydil yahud

O he who answered the prayer of Yunus (jonas) from the darkness

yaa mujeeba nidaa-e yoonosa fiz' z‘ulumaat

O he that chose Musa (Moses)by means of inspired words

yaa must'afee moosa bil kalemaat

O Thou that forgave Adam of his slip

yaa man ghafarale adam-a khat'ee-atah

and raised Idris to an exalted station by his mercy

wara faa'a idreesa makaa nan a'liyyan be rah’matih

O he who saved Noah from drowning

yaa man najaa nooh'an minal gharaq

O he who destroyed the former people of Ad

yaa man ahlaka a'adanil oola

and then the people of Thamood, so that no trace of them remained, and destroyed the people of Noah before that, for verily they were the most unjust and most rebellious

wa thamooda famaa abqa Waqauma noo h'in min qablo inna hum kaanoo hum az'lama wa at'ghaa

and overturned the ruined and deserted towns O he who destroyed the people of Lot;

Wal mo-tafekate ahwa yaa man dam mara a'laa qaume loot

and annihilated the people of Sho'aib

Wadamdama a'laa qaume shuayb

O he that chose Abraham as a friend

yaa manit ta khad'a ibraheema khaleelan

O he that chose Musa as one spoken unto

yaa manit takhad'a moosa kaleeman

and chose Muhammed (your blessings be upon him and his Progeny) as your Beloved

Wat-ta khad'a muhammad-an s'allaaho a'laihe wa aalehi wa a'laihim ajma'eena h'abeeba

O he who gave Luqman wisdom;

yaa mo-teya luqmaanal h'ikmah

and bestowed upon Sulaiman a kingdom the like of which shall not be merited by anyone after him

Wal waahiba li-sulaimaanmulka laa yambaghi li ah'a di- min ba'dihi

O he that gave Dhulqarnain victory over the tyrant kings

yaa man nas'ara d'al qarnaine a'lal moloo kil jabaaberate

O he that granted unto Khizr immortality

yaa man aa't'al khiz'ral h'ayaata

and brought back for Yusha, the son of Nun, the sun after it had set

Waradda le yooshaa' abne noo nish shamsa ba'da ghuroobeha

O he who gave solace unto the heart of Musa's mother

yaa man rabat'a a'laa qalbi ummi Moosa

and protected the chastity of Mariam, the daughter of Imran;

Wa ah's'ana farja maryamab nate i‘mraan

yaa man h'ass'ana yah'yabna zakariyya minad'amb;

O he who fortified Yahya, the Son of Zakaria against sin;

Wasakkana a'n moosal ghaz"aba

and calmed the anger of Musa (moses)

O he that gave the good news of (the Birth of) Yahya unto Zakaria

yaa man bashshara zakariyya beyah'ya

O Thou that saved Ismael from slaughter by substituting for him the Great Sacrifice

yaa man fadaa ismae'ela minad' dabhe bidibh'in az'eemin

O he who accepted the sacrifice of Abel and placed the curse upon Cain

yaa man qabila qurbaan haabeela Wa ja'alal la'anata a'la qaa beela

O he who Subdued of the parties for Muhammad - the blessings of Allah be upon him and his Progeny -

yaa hazemal ah'zaabe le muh'am madin s'allal-laaho a'laihe wa aalehi

S'alle a'laa muh'am madin wa aale muh'ammadin wa a'la jameei'l mursa leen Wa malaa ekatekal muqar rabeena wa ahle t'aa'ateka ajmae'en

Bless Muhammad and the household of Muhammad, all the messengers and angels who have been brought close and all those who obey you

And I beg of you with all the requests which anyone has begged of you with whom you are pleased and unto whom you have assured the granting thereof

Wa as- aloka bekulle mas-alatin sa-laka beha ah'adun mimman raz"ee taa'nho Fa h'atamta lahu a'lal ijaabah

O Allah, O Allah, O Allah

yaa allaaho yaa allaaho yaa allaaho

O Most Merciful, O Most Merciful, O Most Merciful,

yaa rah' maano yaa rah'maa no yaa rah'maano

Most Beneficient, O Most Beneficient, O Most Beneficient

yaa rah'eemo yaa rah'ee mo yaa rahee mo

O Lord of Majesty and Grace, O Lord of Majesty and Grace, O Lord of Majesty and Grace.

yaa d'al jalaale wal ekraame yaa d'al jalaale wal ekraame yaa d'al jalaale wal ekraame

Through you, Through you, Through you, Through you, Through you, Through you,

Behi behi behi behi behi behi

I beseech you with the help of all the Names whereby you have named yourself

As aloka bekullismin sam mai ta behi nafsaka

or which you have sent down in any of your inspired Scriptures, or Which you have inscribed in your knowledge of the unknown, which only you know

aw anzal taho fee shayyin Min kotu beka awis ta-atharta behi fee i'lmil ghaibe

and (I beseech you) in the name of the honored and exalted positions of your Throne,

i'nkdaka Wa-be ma-a'aqedil i'zze min a'rshika

wa be muntahar rah'mate min kitaabik

and in the name of the utmost extent of Thy Mercy as expressed in Thy Book (the Quran)

Wa-bema lau anna maa fil arz"e min shaja-ratin aqlaamun

and in the fact of that which "If all the trees on earth

were to become pens and all the seven seas ink, the Words of Allah could not be fully written down

wal bah'ro yamuddoho min ba'dehi sab-a'to abh'orin maa na fedat kalemaa

Verily Allah is the Honored, the Wise

tullaahe in nallaaha a'zeezun h'akeem

And I beseech Thee with the help of Thy Beautiful Names

Wa as-aloka be asmaaekal h'usna

which you have described in your Book, saying,:Unto Allah belong the beautiful names

allati naa' attaha fee kitabika Faqulta walil laahil asmaaul h'usna

so call Him by Them; And you have said ;”Call unto Me and I shall answer you; “

fado'oho beha Wa-qulta udo'ooni asta jib lakum

and you have said; “and when My servants ask something of Me, lo, I am near and I grant the prayer of the supplicant when he asks anything of Me”

waqulta wa id'aa sa-laka i'baadi a'nni fa inni qareeb ujeebo daa'watad daa'i id'aa da'aane

and you have said; “O My servants who have wronged yourselves, despair not of the Mercy of Allah; verilly Allah forgives all the sins”

verily He is the Forgiving, the Merciful

innahu huwal ghafoorur rah'eem

Therefore I ask you, My God,

Wa ana as aolaka yaa ilaahi

wa ado'oaka yaa rabbi

and I call on you, My lord

wa arjooka yaa Sayidee

And I have hope in you my master

And I crave for your acceptance of my prayer, O my Protector, just as you promised me

Wa at'maa'o fee ijaabati yaa maulaaya kamaa wa a'd tani

and I have call upon you just as you have commanded me

Wa qad daa'aotoka kamaa amartani

So, do unto me what pleases you to do, O all Generous One

Faf a'l bi maa anta ahlohu yaa kareemo

And all Praise be to Allah, the Lord and Sustainer of the worlds

Wal h'am do lillahe rabbil a'a lameen

and the blessings of Allah be upon Muhammad and all His Holy Descendants.
