Welcome back to all of you returning to DIT for the new college year and for those of you just joining us, well a very big welcome to you! Don’t be shy, call down to us in the Societies Office; get involved and join in the best banter around! We in the Societies Office have missed all of the madness of having you all around and we can’t wait for the year ahead.
We have put an even bigger and better emphasis on the Training and Leadership development that you guys will receive as members of a Society and as Committee members within your society. This year is going to be packed with the biggest variety of courses available to Society members across the country! We will have professionals from each industry coming in to develop your skills and in turn make your society that much better. All the information you need is included in this booklet which will give you the dates of each course and what they involve and guess what… they are all FREE. Well we may need to get a security deposit from you to secure your place on a course but that’s always a small amount.
Our first big Training event of the year is of our Overnight Socs training. Always a great time to network and meet new societies and people while learning important skills nessesary for running a great society

Treasurer Training
Content: Budget Management is an essential part of everyday life and when you are the Treasurer of a society it’s just as important.
Learn how to manage the money your society is allocated and how you can get your hands on the money too.
If you are a Treasurer for a South Side society and want to attend the training on the North side that’s cool by us!
This training is aimed for members of a society who hold treasurer positions but all members are welcome.

Content:The DIT Societies Office has teamed up with our training partner, TSS (Training & Selection Services), to deliver the FETAC Level 6 Train the Trainer course to a small group of selected student trainers. Participants of the four day programme will gain a nationally recognised academic qualification, a gem to have on your CV! The course offers training to students on a variety of subjects aimed at improving interpersonal and other key transferable skills which will complement their academic qualifications and improve employability. The Train the Trainer programme offers the opportunity for students to be trained as trainers and equip them with the necessary skills to deliver training to their peers.
This training is aimed at mentors of clubs or societies.
