HTI is a specialist in supporting the professional development of school leaders, developing the performance of schools/colleges and enhancing the personal development of students.
Developing Successful Leaders
ABOUT US | HTI is an independent, not-for-profit, national organisation which is respected for its 25 year track record of developing successful leaders in schools, FE, HE, the public sector and business.
We connect education, business and government in order to share best practice across the sectors, creating our valuable HTI Network, which is what makes us unique. We’re specialists in delivering professional development opportunities with our own popular range of training programmes as well as being a leading provider for the National College, the TDA and the Department for Education.
WELCOME TO HTI | We have specialised in leader development since 1986 and have always believed in the importance of looking at leadership models inside and outside education, from which we draw on the best resources for our school and college leaders.
We are proud to have been a lead provider for the National College, TDA and DfE since 1997 and we are respected for our high quality delivery. For this reason you may not be aware that we are not the National College but HTI!
HTI (Heads, Teachers & Industry), as a national charity, is committed to developing partnerships which will benefit schools. Our training programmes are therefore created in partnership with the Hay Group, CEL (Centre for Educational Leadership) at Manchester University, MMU (Manchester Metropolitan University), Merganser Consulting, Contour Education, business and
the public sector. Geoff Hannan is a key consultant who, on our behalf, works tirelessly to close the gender attainment gaps in education.
Our programmes are frequently designed to suit your requirements and the needs of your school or college, cluster, federation or LA.
Young people have one chance to prepare themselves for adult life. Great teachers make the difference to their start in life. But great leaders develop great teachers – and we at HTI aim to develop great leaders.
Anne Evans OBE, Chief Executive, HTI

Those who take part very often make long-term international professional relationships, to the considerable benefit of their school – and themselves.

GREENER COMMUNITIES PROGRAMMES
It is important for schools to have access to safe, fun and educational outside spaces to enhance learning. HTI Greener Communities programmes broker relationships between businesses and their local schools, with businesses providing the funding and the workforce (their employees) to complete a project. For example, schools with underutilised space in their grounds could create allotments or sustainable biodiversity areas for the benefit of the whole school community.
