• Mr. Spartan Contest• Saturday, March 5, 2011 • 7 p.m.• We need donations of drinks, chips and candy

for concessions. Drop off in Ms. Gonzales’ room 1867 or in Admin. Silver.

• All money raised goes towards prom and senior breakfast.

Fundraiser cont.• Co-ed Basketball Tournament sponsored by

the Class of 2011.• Thursday, March 24th and Friday, March 25th

• Anyone can play! Pick up entry form in finance office or Admin. Silver.

• The winning team plays the faculty!• We need donations of drinks, chips, and candy

Important Dates• Monday, March 28, 2011• Graduation speech auditions: 2:45 p.m.• If chosen, you will address everyone during

the ceremony on June 3rd, but you must audition in front a committee of teachers, administrators, and students on the 28th.

• Pick up application with specific details in Admin. Silver and work on speech over spring break!

Important Dates cont.

• March 31, 2011-- last day to order cap/gown. Go to balfourgrad.com to order.

• April 19, 2011– Panoramic picture 7:45 a.m. at Cy Lakes. All seniors should wear the shirt that lists graduates’ names! Shirts will be ordered after spring break.

• Must have parental release for video and picture appearance. Your class sponsors will contact you after spring break, if needed.

Prom: Ancient Greece

• Friday, May 20, 2011 at The Berry Center• 7:30-11:30 p.m.• Tickets: $75-$80 per person• Includes hors d’oeurves (chicken tenders, cheese

sticks, dessert bar, and chocolate fountain) and drinks (iced tea, cokes, and water)

• Photographer will be available to capture your special night.

• Limos and party buses are welcome!

Project Prom: Party ‘til the Sun Comes Up!

• Midnight-6a.m.• After the prom, change into casual clothes,

and eat, drink soft drinks, and play the night away in a safe environment with your classmates!

• It’z Entertainment• HWY 249 and 1960 – Willowbrook area–

exact directions to be posted soon.• Tickets: TBA

• Activities: arcade games, casino tables, food, movies, carnival rides, miniature bowling, inflatables, prizes.

• You do not have to: – attend Prom to go to Project Prom – have a date to go to Project Prom– dress up at Project Prom

Project Prom cont.

• Mr. Spartan – Saturday night at 7:00pm, tickets $5 in advance, $8 at door.

• King of the Court – May 6th – get your teams together and start practicing.

• Smoothie sales – after school on Tuesday and Thursday in cafeteria.

• Coca-Cola sales – order forms can be picked up from Mrs. Wolf. Delivery will be before Spring Break.

• CFISD Student Code of Conduct mandates a placement in disciplinary alternative education program (ALC) for anyone who:– The student engages in the conduct while on

school property, or within 300 feet of school property, or while attending a school-sponsored or school-related activity on or off school property.

– Sells, gives, or delivers to another person an alcoholic beverage, as defined by Section 1.04, Texas Alcoholic Beverage Code.

– Commits a serious act or offense while under the influence of alcohol.

– Possesses, uses or is under the influence of an alcoholic beverage.

Prom & Project Prom cont.

• Be careful what pictures you post on social networking sites.

• Don’t pretend to hold a bottle or pretend to take a drink!

Your last 12 weeks of school• Misbehavior at prom, project prom, and the

last weeks of school can result in disciplinary actions that might keep you from participating in the graduation ceremony on June 3rd.

• Misbehavior includes, but is not limited to, fights, pranks, vandalism, etc., and could result in suspension from school and/or an ALC placement.

Cont. (Last 12 Weeks)

• Attendance is important! Credit is lost after 9 absences, so EA’s must be made up. See your AP for more details.

• Seniors can exempt all 7 exams with the following in each class:– 3 or less absences.– No suspensions, no U in conduct, and no ALC

placements.– Average of 80 or better in each class.

The last day of school• Wednesday, June 1, 2011• Senior Breakfast and graduation practice.• 7:45 a.m. in The Commons.• Last morning together in school! Eat and fellowship with

friends and faculty, then practice in the auditorium for your big day!

• You will pick up your cap/gown after practice, but must be cleared of fees and fines. See Mrs. Evans in the finance office.

• Tickets will be handed out for the graduation ceremony. There will be a sign-up list if you need more than 13 tickets.

Graduation Day 2011

• Friday, June 3, 2011• 7 p.m. at The Berry Center• Arrive 1 hour early, but plan for heavy traffic

to The Berry Center. • Pictures will be taken when you shake hands

with Mrs. Harty and when you leave the stage.• Ceremony will last 2 hours.• Sunday dress required.

Voting items• Vote on Benediction/Invocation

– Do you want a prayer before and after the ceremony?

– Check yes or no on your ballot.

• Vote on Name Readers– List two faculty members who you would like to

read the list of graduates’ names. Does not have to be a senior teacher, and can be from any grade level, or can be a faculty or staff member.

Favorites• Write in ideas for Class Favorites on the back of

your ballot.– Class Song ex. “The Time of My Life” by The Black

Eyed Peas, “I Hope You Dance” by LeAnn Womack, “Graduation” by Vitamin C.

– Class Quote/Saying/Motto ex. “Don’t live down to expectations. Go out there and do something remarkable.”
