Quick Info
CVS MAKINA - Com pany Presentation
CVS headquarter is placed in the industrial
region of Gebze, just east of Istanbul, closeto many major ports
Our modern facilities consists of more than
40,000 sqm of closed area and a land ofadditional approx. 40,000 sqm
CVS workforce is formed by over than 500
specialized workers and engineers with a
modern machinery park to undertake eventhe most challenging projects.
Over than 200 engineers and administrative
employees are involved in the design and
management of the projects.

FTP DESIGN
From EAF Roof Elbow to Stack, CVS provides complete Fume Treatment Plants withengineering, design, manufacturing and installation. Design considers also LF, MHS,canoppy and other dust emitting points by the goal of ZERO DUST EMITION toenvironment. CVS offers economically viable solutions at European standards.

C VS - F T PDesign Concept
The dedusting system consists of a
set of fume collection points and a
set of ducting lines (water-cooled orradiant type), which convey the
various emissions to the bag filter
already under implementation.
CVS designs FTP with the following
aim:
minimum operation andmaintenance costs;optimal utilization of spaces inside
/ outside the meltshop;
automatic operation, hands-off
type; andtwenty-four hours operation.
CVS designs FTP to collect, suck and treat the primary and secondary emissions
generated by the EAF, the primary emission generated by the LF and the emission
emitted by the Material Handling System.
C VS - F T PDesign Concept
Design considers following working
profile:
Melting phase
EAF in melting phase (roof closed,
primary fumes suction line open);
Suction from the canopy hood toprovide meltshop ventilation and
primary fumes cooling;
LF in heating phase;
MHS in operation.
Charging/Tapping phase
EAF in charging/tapping phase (roof
open, primary fumes suction lineclosed);
Suction from the canopy hood;
LF in heating phase;
MHS in operation.

C VS - F T PBag Fil ter Unit
Huge flowrate calls for pulse jet filter whichare suction-typefilters, equipped withcompressed air automatic bag cleaningsystem. The filter itself is composed of 2parallel lines, made up of severalcompartmentscontaininga fixed number ofbags.The filter casing is made of welded steelstructures with external reinforced walls. Itis subdivided into parallel compartments insuch a way that each compartmentcan beseparated from the gas stream duringcleaning cycle (off line cleaning design).
C VS - F T PTypical Fi lter Unit
Each compartmentconsists of a raw gaschamber below and a clean gaschamber above divided by the bagsupportingplate. The lower chambercomposesthe filter body, contains thefiltering bags and the dust collecting
hoppers. The upper chamber contains theinjectors for the compressed airdistribution to the bags for cleaningpurpose.
The two chambers are connected to the central collector respectively to the gas inlet andoutlet by means of separation dampers. Dampers for lower chambers are manuallyactuated, being utilized in closed position as an additional safety in the event ofmaintenanceor inspection; the dampers of the upper chambers, instead, are providedwith pneumatic actuators, being automaticallyclosed while performingmaintenance andbag cleaning in OFF-LINE mode.The cleaning system of the filtering bags is located inside the clean gas chamber. It iscomposedof one distributor per row of bags, completed with compressed air feeder toeach bag.

C VS - F T PTypical Canoppy Hood
The canopy hood is placed on the top of the building roof above the EAF and has thepurpose to collect the emissions generated during charging & tapping phases of theEAF. Besides, it has the duty to ventilate the building during the EAF power-on phaseand to such the necessary dilution air to finally cool down the primary emissiontemperaturebefore to be processed by the filtering unit.The shape and volume of the canopy hood depends on several factors, such as:distance between EAF mouth and bottom line of the canopy hoodEAF shell diameterposition of the EAF in the baygeometricalshape of the building roof. The canopy hood is designed to allow an
adequate resident time of the fumes
during the EAF most critical operatingconditions (i.e. charging and tapping).Another important factor taken in dueconsideration for the canopy hood designis to avoid the flow back phenomena. Infact, proper dimensioning of the canopyhood can give enough volume to destroykinetic energy of downward fumes.
C VS - F T PTypical Pelletizer
The pelletizing machine transformsthe dust collected by the bag filterinto nodules through the addition ofa binder (water), which is sprayed ina rotary plate. The pellet formsowing to their rolling on the raking
plate of the pelletizing machine,which is put in slow rotation. Thanksto the raking position of the plateand to the material moving, thegreater parts get to the surface whilethe smaller parts pass to the lowerbeds.
As soon as the plate is full of pellets (already formed), these pass over its rim andreach the discharge chute.The system includes also a hopper to be located underneath the pelletizing machineand designed to receive and store the pellets; the hopper is fitted with sliding door forpellet discharge on trucks; the sliding door is driven by a hydraulic mechanism fed by adedicated power pack.

C VS - F T PAUTOMATION
Operationof complete dedustingsystem is syncronised by automationsystem.Distributionof flow to primaryandsecondary section of EAF iscontrolledby two dampers locatedon the lines actuated automaticallyby automation.
Damper position and main fan speedsaccording to 5 main modes of furnace
operation can be changed by HMI inFTP control room.Additionally, fan speed is adjustedduring meltingphase according to thevaluecomingfrom pressure transmittermeasuring the pressure insidecombustionchamber.
