Botswana, officially Republic of Botswana, is a landlocked country in Southern Africa.Botswana is bordered on the southeast and south by South Africa, Namibia to the west and north and the north-east Zambia, and Zimbabwe. In Kazungula in the northeast, the borders of Namibia, Zambia and Zimbabwe in the middle of the Zambezi, but according to some views the lack of a single point for the adoption of a multilateral recognized Vierländereck contractual basis.The name is derived from the name of the people of Tswana. National Day is 30 September, the day of independence from the United Kingdom (1966). Botswana has long been considered a model country for democracy in Africa, and in 2011 had the highest Human Development Index of all the States of Southern Africa on.Approximately 24 percent (as of 2007) of adults are infected with HIV - the world's second highest infection rate.
