MYTH OF FACT?

On each of the following slides,

there is either a myth of a fact

relating to COPD of the causes of

COPD!

Can you tell which is MYTH and

which is FACT?

MYTH OR FACT?

COPD and asthma

are the same?

MYTH OR FACT?

COPD is always

caused by smoking?

MYTH OR FACT?

As soon as I quit

smoking, my lungs

will start to

regenerate!

MYTH OR FACT?

The best thing for me

to do is take it easy

and do as little as

possible!

MYTH OR FACT?

A diagnosis of COPD

is pretty much a

death sentence!

Not true at all! It is not unusual for a person to live for many years (20 years or more) with a diagnosis of COPD. With the right medications, exercise, nutrition – and a positive attitude, you have a good chance to live long enough to spoil your grandchildren!

People with COPD are

breathless only when

they exercise or exert

themselves.

Even with proper

medication, COPD

will never go away

I should be as thin as

carry less weight and

breathe as well as I can!

MYTH OF FACT?

My shortness of

breath can only be

COPD is contagious,

so you should avoid

people with the
