Roll Out Presentation
To guide ACTS employees in the obtaining, training and use of Personal Protective Equipment
1. To indicate the hazards which are present on the jobsite and guide the PPE selection process accordingly
e.g.: - Use of safety glasses for flying debris 2. To ensure that all purchased PPE meet the minimum OSHA
standards for safe work e.g.: - Procurement of PPE through a reputable vendor, which
sells ANSI and/ or ISO certified equipment.
3. To ensure ACTS provide the adequate training for their employees who are required to use PPE. This includes:
- When PPE is required - What PPE is required
Body Part Protection
Eye Safety Glasses, Goggles
Face Face Shields
Head Hard Hats
Feet Safety Shoes
Hands and arms Gloves
Bodies Vests, Coveralls
Ear Earmuffs, Earplugs
- How to properly put on, adjust, wear and remove the PPE - The limitations of PPE - The proper care, maintenance, useful life and disposal of PPE
4. To verify those employees who have received and understood
the required training through a written certification that contains the name of each employee trained, the date(s) of training, and the subject of the certification
5. For the provision of PPE to ACTS employees on an as-required
basis. These PPE must include: Full Body Coverall.
Steel Tip Safety Shoes/ Boots. (ANSI Z 41 is recommended)
Safety Helmet- (ANSI Z 89.1 is recommended).
Safety Glasses/ Goggles. (ANSI Z 87.1 is recommended)
Regular and routine inspection of PPE shall be done to ensure that all equipment is safe for work prior each use
For more specialized PPE, required for specific jobs, a PPE checklist for the equipment will be used to ensure that it is in safe working condition which should be completed for each use of the equipment.
1. The employee requesting the PPE must fill out the relevant information on the form
2. Under the “On Requisition” section the Materials
Coordinator receives the form 3. The Project Execution Lead/Supervisor for the
relevant job must approve the form before issuing any PPE
4. Upon issuing of the PPE, the Materials Coordinator shall issue the PPE where it is received by the employee requesting the PPE
5. The form must be documented and stored in a designated folder
