Community Helpers

Attendance Monitor

• Take morning attendance count.

• Let teacher know who is absent.

• Move behavior pins up.

Gardener• Water the plants

every day.

Electrician

• Turn the lights on and off when we enter and leave the classroom and as requested by the teacher.

Hall Monitor• Class line leader.• Make sure everyone is

lined up correctly.• Correctly means

standing in a square, facing forward, not talking.

Veterinarian• Feed our class pet

every morning after breakfast.

• Make sure our pets habitat is clean.

Mailperson• Place any graded papers

in student boxes.• Place any notes & papers

in student boxes.• Deliver any mail or notes

the teacher has.• Check our class mailbox

and put any mail in student boxes.

Teachers Assistant

• Pass out materials.• Collect papers.• Help the teacher as

needed.• Makes sure

everyone is doing their job.

Time Monitor• In charge of the class

timer. Turn on/off as directed by teacher.

• During centers set/reset timer.

• Lets the class know the scheduled special of the day.

Optometrist• Makes sure students

who wear glasses have them on.

• Cleans students dirty glasses as needed.

Pencil Patrol• Sharpens pencils at

the end or beginning of the day.

• Make sure pencils are put in the correct cup.

• Keep an eye out for pencils on the floor.

• Will replace broken pencils as needed.

Calendar Helper• Let class know

today’s date. (month, day, year)

• Put calendar number on calendar.

Meteorologist• Let class know

today’s weather and record it on calendar.

• Let class know temperature of the day.

Computer Technician• Turn computers on/off as

needed.

• Keeps computers clean and dust free.

Bellhop• Hold doors open and

closes them.• Last one in line.• Moves arrow on chart to

let others know where we are.

• Help bring in/take out breakfast coolers.

• Make sure backpacks and coats are hung up on chairs.

• Help teacher carry any items as needed.

Environmentalist• Empty recycle bin

when it is full.• Check trash cans to

make sure no paper is thrown away.

• Place any paper found on floor/trashcan in recycle bin.

Librarian• Make sure reading

center is clean.• Put away books that

are out of place.• Turns in Library

books for the teacher.

• In charge of passing out AR folders in Library.

Chair Monitor• Make sure chairs at

centers are stacked when requested by teacher.

• Make sure everyone stacks their chair/pushes their chair in before we go.

• Make sure everyone is sitting in their chair correctly.

Custodian

• Wipe down tables after breakfast when needed.

• Collect breakfast trash and place outside door.

• Make sure there is no trash on floor/sweep .

• Erase board at the end of day.

Housekeeper

Water Monitor

• Fill water jug every morning.

• Monitor water breaks in class and during restroom breaks.

Floater• Fill in doing any job as

needed when the person assigned is unable to complete their job.

• Does the job assigned of any person that is absent.
