HUE

A hue refers to the gradation of color within the visible spectrum,

or optical spectrum, of light.

Experience of Color

• Defines our world. Our eyes are attracted to color to such an extent that the color of an object is perceived before the details imparted by its shapes and lines. ex: At first glance we do not see the difference species of trees in the woodland, but rather see the dominance of green.

• It is a visual experience, color has the ability to make us aware of what we see. ex: describe the sky, without referring to color, it is very difficult.

• Influencing our emotions ( our attitude is colored by a childhood experience)ex: feeling blue
