With mobile data charges being affordable as well, a considerable number of users now rely on their smart gadgets to complete tasks such as mobile banking and mobile payment, while on the move. Taking this latest trend into consideration, several established retailers are offering users the convenience of mobile shopping and payment. The era of the digital payment is expected to see far more growth this year; big players such as Apple, Google, Amazon, PayPal and Facebook are now making a successful transition from online to mobile. In his presentation, Gijs op de Weegh, COO Payvision, discussed facts & figures in mobile payments, the existent Business Models, the particularities of different regions with different regulatory environments; he looked at consumers’ behavior trends and their influence on the mobile payments industry, and the conversion of mobile payments models.
