Parent Responsibilities
Monitoring attendance.
Sign off my student’s reading log each night after 20 minutes of reading.
Monitor amount of technology students are engaged in each evening.
Volunteering in my child’s classroom or campus
Participating, as appropriate, in decisions relating to my children’s education.
Promote positive use of my child’s extracurricular time.
Staying informed about my child’s education and communicating with the school by promptly reading all notices from the school or the school district either received by my child or by mail
Serving, to the extent possible, on campus groups such as Campus Improvement Team, Parents Involved in Education (PIE), Language Proficiency Assessment Committee (LPAC) Parent representative

Student Responsibilities
We, as students, will share the responsibility to improve our academic achievement and achieve the State’s high standards.
Specifically, we will:
• Do my classwork every day and ask for help when I need to. • Read at least 20 minutes every day outside of school time. • Give to my parents or the adult who is responsible for my welfare, all notices and information received by me, from my school every day.Additional Required School Responsibilities:

What is a School-Parent Compact?
A School-Parent Compact is an agreement that parents, students, and staff members develop together. It explains how parents, students and teachers can work together to ensure all of our students achieve success.
The compact is developed annually by parents, teacher, and administrators.
Building a Community of Learners
Southside Elementary will:1. Provide high-quality curriculum

Note: Visitors will not be allowed on campus during Common Assessment testing weeks as well as State Testing weeks. Visitors MUST have a VALID ID in order to receive a
visitor’s pass.
