GLOSSARY: $FREE

BUCK: Basically a Highball with the addition of citrus (the husk of the fruit being thrown into the drink). The original Buck was made with gin and was carbonated with ginger ale. COLLINS: A Sour served in a tall glass with ice and charged water. DAISY: A Sour variation that typically uses raspberry syrup or grenadine. FLIP: Any wine or liquor combined with sugar and a whole egg and shaken vigorously. Usually garnished with nutmeg. FIX: A Sour variation that calls for pineapple syrup. FIZZ: There is no difference between a Collins and a Fizz in terms of ingredients. Traditionally they were served in different sized glasses. HIGHBALL:

consisting of a base liquid in combination with a carbonated beverage and with or without auxiliary coloring and flavoring agents, but definitely without lemon

MILK PUNCH: A liquor made by straining curds from spirits infused with citrus, spice and milk. Originally, a New England recipe. RICKY: A drink combining a liquor, lime (and only lime), and sparkling water. The original drink contained no sugar but more modern versions sometimes use up to a teaspoon of sugar. SOUR: Simply a cocktail that consists of lemon or lime juice, sugar, or some other sweetening and spirituous liquor.
