STL Public Interest Advocacy Clinic (“PIAC”) is created to:

Enlighten empathy and passion for serving the public good in a young law student.

PIAC works with the Opportunity Under Law Project in Public Counsel in Los Angeles in the area of education for children

Seminar + Casework + reflection + CLIO - Inequalities in society- Lawyers’ role - Different types of advocacy: litigation, media,

community organizing, policy- Soft skills: cultural competence, ethics,

empathy, active listening, reflection

2015 spring class:

a class action about children living in violent neighborhoods in California:

What are their Constitutional rights to education, when they are deeply traumatized by the neighborhood they live in?
