STEP-1. Since there are 8 people sitting, let usdraw a circle with 8 points/seats/people. All arefacing to the center
STEP-2. From the information we know that His fourth to the left of B and second to the rightof F. Let us mark accordingly
These 3 seats are confirmed and therefore let usdraw a circle on them.
Note that, since everyone is facing to the centerof the table, to the right = anti-clockwise and tothe left = clock wise
Seating Arrangement30 out of 32 Bank PO Exams held in the last 5 years had 5 to 6 questions each based on SeatingArrangement. Therefore it is a MUST study topic and it is almost certain that, once you learn thetechnique of solving these questions you can be assured of 5 or 6 marks in any bank PO exam.In Seating Arrangement questions, we are generally asked to arrange a group of people according tothe given conditions. Given below is a model question, followed by its solutions in very simple meth-ods. This example will give you a very clear idea on how to solve Seating Arrangement questions.

Let us see how to solve the above question: It is difficult to solve the circular-arrangementwithout drawing a diagram. Therefore the first thing to do is draw a diagram (here, it is a circle)
Directions : Study the following informationcarefully and answer the questions givenbelow:
A, B, C, D, E, F, G and H are sitting around acircle facing the centre. H is fourth to the left of Band second to the right of F. A is third to the left ofC, who is not an immediate neighbour of F. G issecond to the left of A. D is second to the right ofE.Questions :1. Who is on the immediate right of F?(1) H (2) A (3) G(4) Data inadequate (5) None of these
2. Who is third to the left of A?(1) C (2) F (3) B(4) Data inadequate (5) None of these
3. In which of the following pairs is the first per-son sitting on the immediate left of the secondperson?(1) EH (2) CE (3) AF(4) DB (5) None of these
4. Which of the following pairs represents the im-mediate neighbours of E?(1) DH (2) HC (3) CA(4) Data inadequate (5) None of these
5. Who is on the immediate right of H?(1) E (2) C (3) H(4) Data inadequate (5) None of these
6. Who is on the immediate right of B?(1) D (2) E (3) F(4) Data inadequate (5) None of these

STEP-3 Our next clue is that A is third to the left of C, who is not an immediate neighbour of F.
Since C is not an immediate neighbour ofF, C has to sit in one of these 3 seats
Since A is third to the left of C, this isthe only place for C
And this is the place of A
STEP-4. Let us take the last 2 clues, G is second to the left of A. D is second to the right of E.
G is second to the left of A, obviously this isthe seat of G
Only 2 seats are left and D is second to theright of E. Naturally their seats has to belike this

STEP -4. Take the next clue: S is the cricketer is sitting exactly between T and P.
S & P cannot sit to the left of T because O isalready sitting there. Thus P has to be thepainter, sitting here
S the cricketer is sitting exactly between Tand P
Since P is the painter, we can concludethat R is the shop keeper
