his technique is a gentle, non-force
procedure which aids the spine in healing
by creating a push-pull-pumping effect on
the intervertebral disc space. Cox®
decompression adjusting and
manipulation is a well-documented,
extensively researched, effective, non-
surgical technique for treating painful
back conditions.
The Cox® 7th generation table is a
modern “instrument” used by the
practitioner to adjust challenging
conditions, including those patients that
do not tolerate traditional manipulative
techniques. It is especially useful for
those with radicular disc herniation,
degeneration, stenosis, curvatures and
other conditions of the neck and back.
some patients say. This technique does just that and much more in a safe, controlled manner.
Central disc material creeps or herniates causing a bulging of the posterior disc into the spinal canal &/or intervertebral foramen.
Degenerative conditions respond well, but gradually due to the poor health of the tissue and the associated inflammatory process.
Spinal decompression and manipulation helps restore normal position and motion which helps muscle, nerve, cartilage and ligament tissue to heal normally.
T MechanismThe patient lies prone on the table while the treating physician concentrates on one vertebral motion segment at a time. The goal is to reduce stenotic effects by dropping intra-discal pressure to allow disc reduction, increase the size of the intervertebral foramen, and lower the pressure on the dorsal root ganglion and exiting nerve root.
How Long Does It Take To Feel BetterThe rule of thumb is that you should feel 50% relief of your pain symptoms within 3 to 4 weeks of continued, cooperative care. Periodic re-examinations will track and document your progress. If the disc is the source of pain, research states that it takes 3 months for it to heal sufficiently enough to return to daily activity.
Research FindingsClose to 40 years of research, experience, and technology have contributed to the development and evolution of the Cox® spinal decompression technique. Chiropractors, engineers, and researchers continue to document its benefit. For more information log on to; www.coxtechnic.com.
